Christine, found out about this great place on the Internet . I investigated and booked. The road in is an experience and a 4 wheel drive is advisable .BUT when you arrive ... No matter what time... A smiling face! Laguna's rooms are so clean and comfortable. The food was delicious and healthy. Where do we start with the praise... More

You must come here if interested in your birds. From early morning there are bananas hung up just outside the restaurant, from day break there is an amazing variety of colourful birds to see. Rooms are spacious and clean - well as clean as it is possible to be in the rain forest. Room 21 has a lovely balcony with... More

The rooms were adequate and clean. It is in a very hot and humid climate so it took a bit to get used to it because there is no air conditioning in the rooms, only a fan. The food was very good that was served at the restaurant. The staff was very nice and helpful. A great location for birding,you... More

This hotel is a nice retreat in the jungle and is perfect for bird spotters. We had only booked one night, but you can easily stay for at least two, if not more. We opted for a guided 3 hour boat ride on the river up towards Nicaragua where the guide took us close to bats, iguanas, birds and crocodiles.... More

As everyone says birds birds and other wildlife. I visited on a very small tour with my wife led by a pair of professional bird guides. This lodge was the highlight. Simply sitting on the veranda watching a procession of birds arriving for their breakfast banana, Oropendula sparring with toucan, many smaller birds but my favourite were the brown hooded,... More

In all my journey in Costa Rica, never got a better Resort for Wildlife The resort is surrounded by a small Lagoon and is home to lots of Caimans that come on the pathway in the entry of the resort every night. Besides the place has a lot of Bird Feeders with perches that make it an Excellent place for... More

...you'll love this place. In more than a month of travelling around Costa Rica to photograph wildlife, the Laguna del Lagarto, together with the Osa pensinsula, was the absolute highlight. Granted, the rooms are nothing special (but perfectly adequate), but then you probably won't be spending any time in them anyway. Instead, you'll be up at sunrise to watch the... More

This is a simple, rustic place with small and dark but basically comfortable rooms, although it always bothered me the tile floors were never clean. And the water pressure in shower was nearly non-existent. But anyway, those aren't important. What is important is the staff is great including the ever-smiling manager Adolpho, the food is good (I remember particularly one... More

If it's birds you are after then this is the place. Great effort is put into putting up natural looking feeders to bring in the birds from the surrounding forest. No one can fail to be impressed by such close views of colourful Toucans, Aricaris, Great Currassows, Tanagers, Coatimundis and more. The rooms although basic are comfortable and have plenty...
