Lovely views, cosy and comfortable. Amazing food - loads of it! Staff very helpful and friendly, with the wonderful Maggie appearing to do just about everything. Although it is rather dated, it is clean, and full of character. We really enjoyed our stay, and it was fantastic value on a kgb deal.

Loved our stay, Maggie is unique, the staff very helpful and friendly. The food is great although it comes in very, very large amounts. And yes it could maybe do with a bit of TLC but as far as we are concerned a clean bed and bathroom are the main thing. A few cobwebs in a 600 year old building... More

Staff were most helpfull and food very good, food was well cooked and there was plenty of it,no need to eat out after haveing the full breakfast, evening meal was very good, starter, main and pud all home made. The hotel could do with a little TLC a lick of paint and some new bedding, but on the whole it was... More

Absolutely loved the Fronoleu Hotel - Maggie and her staff couldn't have been any more helpful - nicest hotel staff we've ever encountered ANYWHERE. Our dogs were made welcome and fussed over by staff and guests alike. OK, as some say, yes -parts of the hotel are a bit jaded - but quite honestly it doesn't matter. It's all part... More

We went there for a weekend on a deal. Staff very helpful. Room clean and spacious (bathroom almost as big as the room!), bedding slighlty worn out, but we didn't really cared. Room was cleaned daily. Food served there is fantastic, locally supplied when possible. Portions were huge, on the first day we had three course meal included in the... More

I stayed here, (KGB deal from mother) in April this year. I am quite surprised by the 5*. It is for this reason i have decided to give an honest review. I agree that the portions are generous and the owner was very welcoming. However the place was dated, filthy and in need of a complete make over. It is... More

Don't judge a book by its cover....Maggie, Irlene & staff are the most welcoming hospitable people you will ever meet, you can forget the time and all the formalities most hotels are ruled by they truely just want to make your stay as comfortable and relaxing as possible. The food is outstanding and portions are hugh, enormous, they will defeat... More

We had a lovely stay here. I agree with some of the comments regarding the need for something of a makeover, but this didnt detract from our stay...the hotel was clean, warm and in a great location for fell walking. The highlight, however, was the friendliness of the owner and her staff, and the wonderful, freshly cooked food. And the portions.....phew.....beware... More

I agree with some other reviews on the site, the hotel is slightly tired. It is a 12 bedroom hotel run by one person. Maggie is amazing and can not do enough for you, the food is probably the best home cooked food you can buy and the menu is extensive. I do not know how she can do it.... More

I went as a member of a society which had an overnight stay there and a conference. The hotel is an excellent venue for a meeting since it has a very large meeting area in the restaurant and also a cosy lounge with a big open fire to socialize and relax in the evening. The food was of a very... More
