What a fantastic setting for a hotel! If you're a walker this hotel is definitely for you. Everything is geared towards the walker as we found out when we got there. We felt very uncomfortable being the odd ones out sitting in the bar and the restaurant as non-walkers! In the restaurant you could hear a pin drop and you... More

We stayed at Dolserau for 4 days this last week. It was our first visit and we were in a party of 18 old friends. The hall was an unqualified success. Our room (9) on the 2nd floor was excellent. The food, perhaps with the exception of of the first night buffet, was of very high quality. The choice at... More

Everything about this hotel is more or less okay. My room was okay, but the large bathroom had a tiny corner shower cubicle - why? A full sized bath or at the very least a full sized shower cubicle could have easily been accommodated. I'm not a particularly large person, but I had to open up the sliding doors of... More

A most peaceful and tranquil two night stay was enjoyed by the pair of us! the local scenery is amazing and there are plenty of nearby eateries should you wish to eat out.The food at the hotel was excellent, with the term "all day breakfast" meaning just that!!! The hotel is mainly used by walkers. Our room was excellent,, the... More

The hotel is situated in beautiful woodland area only a mile and half away from the lovely market town of Dollgellau. On leaving the main road you drive for about 1 mile down a country lane. On coming into the grounds on the right hand side you cannot miss a Sequoia (Red Wood) tree the tallest around. You soon come... More

Manager Lou very friendly and helpful, greeting warm. Hotel clean and tidy. Good parking. Breakfast good, dinner was ok, had better. The room was large, light with a shower and bath. The area is beautiful with good walks

We were warmly greeted and made to feel very welcome. Our room and public rooms were all clean, well appointed and comfortable. However dinner on the first evening was a complete disaster...chef just wasn't concentrating. However the manager made the very best of an appalling start and was delightful. Breakfasts were ok but we didn't have the confidence to eat... More

Nice manager but very poor food. Limited outside space and dull communal areas. Good selection of information about local activities. Beds comfortable and clean but my room had a green light indicating fire exit that I couldn't turn off and the TV came on at 6am waking me up. I'l look elsewhere next time I'm in the area. Not a... We stayed at this gracious, welcoming, comfortable countryside lodge while enjoying a weeklong discovery walk with HF Holidays. We enjoyed everything about our stay. The staff was friendly and helpful, the food was wonderful with choices for everyone (including wonderful vegetarian and gluten free options for all courses), the atmosphere was relaxed and inclusive, and there were enjoyable evening activities.... Plas Dolserau ( Dolserau Hall Hotel ) Plas Dolserau was built in 1860 and has many original features. This Victorian country house hotel is located within Snowdonia National Park. From our bedroom we overlooked its own quiet grounds and scenic hills. There are views of Cadair Idris located just 2 miles away from its foot. Yes, spectacular countryside and gardens... More
