best spent last night in Ghana, nice cottage like rooms best for back packers, good food and access to the beach
Had always been put off Miss Millys by the bad roads in and out although had visited the beach in 2010.In many ways its great as reflected in the reviews here...a safe haven on the beach [ clean except for the rubbish swamp] where everything is at hand and one can watch busy timeless fishing activity while eating 10pes oranges....

We stayed at Big Milly's for a few nights in December 2011. We had pre-booked the Sahara Suite for the first 2 nights of our stay and a similar room (slightly less money-wise) for the last night of our stay. When we arrived on our first morning after the 2hr journey through the Accra traffic from the airport our room...

situated right on the beach, with wonderful staff to look after you this is a beautiful spot to lose track of time. remove your watch, sit back with a fruit juice and sit watching the fisherman from the vantage point overlooking the beach. in the evening enjoy some great local produce at a very reasonable price.
I spent two weeks in Ghana in October intending to use Big Millys backyard as a base and do some sight seeing.
, but i ended up spending my two weeks there as it catered for all my needs.
I arrived on a Saturday and it took about an hour by taxi to get there (i would urge anyone coming...

- Restaurant and bar on site (food is average by normal standards, but probably good for those who have been in Africa for a while)
- Nice people at the...

I stayed at Big Milly's in June 2011. I went with friends but I had a single room that included an ensuite bathroom and air conditioning. The room was clean and comfortable but if the electricity goes out the room can be stuffy. Although this isn't uncommon for Ghana so you can't fault Big Milly's. The thatched roof leaked a...

During October 2011, I spent 10 too short, unforgettable days at Big Millys Backyard at Kokrobite Beach. Big Millys is a microcosm of facilities and people. It certainly is the epitome of the 'be easy' philosophy of many people in Ghana. The staff and management are helpful and welcoming to say the least. My room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. How...

First and most importantly, do NOT exchange money at Big Milly’s. I asked Wendy, the owner, when booking how I should exchange money. She said we could at Big Milly’s. What she neglected to mention was her rate. The steady exchange rate between USD and Ghanian Cedi on a well-known currency exchange website is 1 : 1.60. Upon our arrival,...
