We have never left reviews before but have just returned from a two week holiday in NZ and were so impressed that we felt compelled to share reviews of our favorite spots. We spent two nights in this very special place and did not want to leave. The views from our little cottage were stunning, the garden was filled with... More

This was a superb experience, everything the web site promised and more. All possible facilities provided, we had a great swim, walk round the orchard and dinner at the Jellyfish, booked by Bronte. Wish we could have stayed a week. Top end prices but absolutely value for money.

I have to agree with other rating of "pretty ok but not special" in every comment but the bed. Also, when we were met at our room we weren't shown anything about room or even asked if we had any questions. At a "luxury" B and B I definitely expect more gracious service. I would give this a slightly above... More

Bronte is a beautiful country estate with a stunning setting. With views of the sea and mountains in the distance and nestled in an apple orchard, you really fall in love with the place as soon as you arrive. We stayed in the bigger lodge, Te Koi, which has two bedrooms. The rooms are all big, light and well decorated... More

It's difficult to explain this but somehow Bronte didn't make any impression on us. Maybe it was because of lack of personality. The rooms were just basic and ok although we valued fresh flowers in the room. The shower was in a plastic corner of bathroom. The bed was so soft that we both had neck pain the following morning.... A beautiful country estate set amongst the apple orchards. Bronte Estate is home away from home. Our suite of rooms had everything you could need and more- fresh apples, homemade cookies and sparkling wine. The view across the bay is stunning. If you get tired of looking at that then take a walk round the stunning grounds. The flowers are... More

Lovely well spaced rooms and the grounds are beautiful. Breakfast was served in the main house and after a few days hot dishes felt repetitive. I did find that the towels seemed to be a little bit run down and for the big size of the bathroom, the shower was small. Overall it was a very comfortable hotel to stay... More

Hello, Thank you very much for reviewing Bronte. We really appreciate your feedback. We are going to be upgrading the villa bathrooms next year and will be looking at installing a larger shower. We have the buffet breakfast available so you can alternate if you prefer to have cereal, fruit, yogurt ect.. as opposed to cooked breakfast. Kind regards, Jordynne More

Our only regret with this property was that we had too little time to enjoy it properly. We arrived quite late and found that we had been booked into a local restaurant for dinner so had to quickly change and get there. Back at the hotel we had a very private room in what is a small property. The room... More

Thank you so much for your review. I'm sorry you may have been rushed to dinner, we didn't want you to miss out! We like to book out our guests at either of the restaurants down in Mapua (8 mins away) just in case. I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay. Kind regards, Jordynne More

We stayed at Bronte on our first night on the South Island, and also again for our last night in New Zealand, it being convenient for Nelson Airport (a drive of about 25 minutes). My first impression on arrival was that I wished I had organised our itinerary better to have enabled us to have stayed for longer - and... More

We stayed only 1 night at the Bronte House. The rooms are decorated beautifully and the main house where breakfast is served on the porch is lovely. It is very pricey. Our rooms looked out over the bay, which would have been nice, except the tide was out. Our view was simply gray colored tidal flat. Breakfast was cooked to... More
