This is a very comfortable hotel. We were particularly pleased with the bedroom - the Robinson Suite - which was at the top of the building (no lift). It was very spacious with two rooms and hallway plus an ensuite and a separate shower room off the sitting room. The decor was very attractive and not over-fussy as you find... More

We thoroughly enjoyed a wonderful winter's weekend here. The House is set in such beautiful grounds that even in winter there is plenty to tempt you outside. Wellingtons provided and gentle strolls as well as longer walks possible. The working walled kitchen garden is a lovely and historic spot and good to see so much locally grown produce. The high... Absolutely the pinnacle of comfort, service and amazing food - my wife is vegetarian and said it was one of the best meals she has ever had, and she is fussy. Expensive but worth every penny. And the garden is fantastic, too. Enough said!

We booked through secret escapes at an amazing price. Our classic room "oak" was on the second floor in the eaves ,up two flights of stairs , our suitcase was carried up to our room. The room appeared to be brand new, beautifully decorated and furnished with a similarly new bathroom down 2 steps. Tea and coffee was provided in... More

We parked the car in front of the hotel, and within seconds a young man appeared to take our suitcases and escort us to Reception, where a pleasant young lady booked us in, showed us around the ground floor of the building and took us to our room. We had booked a standard room, which was more than adequate, providing... More

We spent a wonderfully relaxing night at Gravetye Manor. On arrival a car parking space was allocated to us by the front of house assistant, who offered a fine welcome and carried our bags to our room, introducing us to the receptionist on the way. The friendly atmosphere set us off to a great start. Our room, although small, was... More

This is a really wonderful hotel. The staff were fantastic, the building was perfect (cosy log fires in oak panelled rooms) and their suggested walks ideal to work off the wonderful restaurant food. Exactly what's needed to brighten an English winter weekend.

We are an hour and a half door to door from central London, and loved the warm welcome, superb and unfussy service , and simply delicious food. This is a glorious place with first class standards. Our room (Beech) was beautiful, and the small touches (from wellies and maps for walking to the freshening up of the room during dinner... More

Took a party of 4 to the restaurant list night. I have to say that the setting and food was , as always, exceptional. However the service was exceptionally poor. Very slow to be seated and greeted, very inattentive service in the restaurant itself, almost to the point that as a party we felt ignored. Not what I would have... More

Gravetye Manor Hotel is found at the end of a long, long driveway through Forestry Commission land. You are greeted by electric gates which struggle to open and is perhaps the tell tale sign that this lovely looking hotel is not going to be quite what is advertised. The hotel's appearance from the outside of the front car park very... More
