In early July I took a group of 48 people from southeast Queensland on a garden tour of southern England for 18 days. During our stay in the Kent region we visited Gravetye Manor where we enjoyed a most informative guided a tour of the garden by Head Gardener Tom and a superb afternoon tea in the marquee on the... I won't repeat what other travellers have said about this hotel, I can only confirm the 5 star reviews. We stayed in the Beech room on the first floor - it is not very large but I guess, this is usual with historic houses. The room had a view over the pond at the bottom of the slope. We had... More

I have always wanted to stay here. The gardens are what first attracted me to this hotel . This is pampering at its best. As I was on my own I opted for a single room and was not disappointed . The room was beautifully furnished and very comfortable. I even had a stack of lovely magazines at my disposal which... More

My family and I visited Gravetye Manor for lunch last Friday and had a wonderful afternoon. The service was flawless and the food was exquisite! I highly recommend a visit here, I hope to return again.

The hotel was everything other reviewers said. The receptionist and porters were welcoming and the gardens were lovely. The lounges and dining room were luxurious. Our bedroom (Oak) was not large but it was adequate and beautifully furnished and equipped. It was however on the second floor, on the far end of the building and there is no lift. You... More

This hotel was chosen due to its proximity to Gatwick Airport. Unfortunately we arrived at Gravetye at the tail end of our vacation, a little weary and sad because we had just learned that our beloved dog died in our absence. The sky was grey and overcast, it was chilly, and it kept us from walking the incredible gardens -... More

just stopped in for drinks... and VERY pleased we did! the entire place is full of magic, don't have any better way to describe it as from the moment we crossed the gates into the manor we were transported to a different land... the place is grand yet organic to the acres of land that surround it.

Steeped in centuries old peace, this stunning small manor house exudes calm. The rooms are comfortable and gracious and the restaurant is superb, with seasonal food beautifully presented. The gardens are deep and green and wonderfully planted, with old brick walls and a productive potager. If you ever get the chance to stay here, take it. You won't regret it.

Our stay at Gravetye Manor was delightful - elegance with a small, intimate, homey feel. The staff was exceptional - helpful, friendly, and ever present (everyone seemed happy to work there). Our room was beautiful, spotless, and with every amenity one needed. The food was delicious, served elegantly, and paired perfectly and precisely with the wines. The gardens are Fabulous!!!!!!... An anniversary treat took us to Gravetye for an overnight stay in Bay room, which was delightful with perfect views of the garden on 2 sides and beautifully quiet. The gardens were the perfect place for a walk and an al fresco lunch. Reception staff were very welcoming. We were very pleased to have a reservation for dinner that evening,... More
