Sublime lunch, everything just perfect from the beautiful gardens, the immaculate service, great wine list. Went for lunch and almost stayed for dinner. This place is stunning in the summer and will be amazing the winter.

Superb - second time we stayed here (prior was year and half ago). Came back because we loved it the first time. Just as good the second. Surrounding gardens are stunning, manor setting is also stunning, rooms are completely romantic with up to date bathrooms and facilities, and good room size. Chef is 5 Star - Visit for lunch or... The service was excellent, the room was very large and clean and included dressing gowns and slippers. The grounds are very attractive to wonder around or take a longer walk on one of the recommended footpath routes, wellies are available to loan if it is wet under foot.

I sometime hesitate to recommend English country as most of them looks fine on the outside but really needs a full refurbishment. Not this one. The bathroom has been modernized and the minibar had a Nespresso machine. The furniture is still antique and the floor still squeak but what do you expect. The traditional service throughout the hotel was immaculate.... More

Gravetye is close to Gatwick Airport but this does not impact upon the sleep quality or atmosphere. Home of William Robinson, famous gardener, it has fantastic gardens and the house itself is old and very atmospheric. The public rooms are wood panelled and ooze history and charm. The bedroom we had was large, beautifully appointed and had a large four... More

We stayed here for two nights following our wedding in June, which was possibly the best time to visit in terms of the gardens. From arrival to departure, our stay was faultless: the room (Sycamore) was spotless, beautifully decorated with a motley assortment of antique furniture which gave it great character, and a huge comfy bed, TV, iPod dock, etc. There... We came for our second trip to Glynebourne this year and arrived Friday afternoon at Gravetye Manor. The staff are so friendly and helpful and with only 17 rooms it is intimate and very cosy. Afternoon tea in the stunning garden followed by the set dinner which was exquisitely delicious. Our favourite room and breakfast in the garden. We have... More

We'd been to Gravetye almost 30 years ago and it was simply great, we returned about a decade or so later and it wasn't as wonderful as we remembered it. However, this time it is back to its former glory. Immaculate service, expquisite food, beautiful surroundings, a lovely room with a free mini-bar, a fruit basket, lovely amenities in the... More

For me, the hotel's main selling point to come to stay at this property for a short getaway from London was its garden, I read about it on the its website. The garden is all that it promises - an truly enthralling place. The hotel itself I found lacking character, a garden variety British country hotel, rather pretty and rather... More
