Stayed in Den Vader. Great position for the sights of The Netherlands.Positives - Was clean and with nice terrace. Bedrooms large with decent beds and bedding. Town of Nieuwveen is great and Coop supermarket is excellent and open 7 days a week. Kitchen well equiped and clean. negatives - Didn't see much of owners. In fact was shown in and... More

We stayed for 8 days, the hosts were lovely and welcoming, the place is located 35 km south of Amsterdam in the perfect location for excursions all over the Netherlands. The place is clean and inviting and very well maintained. The childrened enjoyed the open spCes and the farm animals. I strongly recommend to stay on the farm.

My partner and I spent 12 days at Sint Nicolaashoeve , loved the apartment , the location was central to the places we were visiting(family). It was good to be in the country, away from the busy cities like Amsterdam . We actually drove to locations outside of the larger cities and took the tram or train into the city.... Great... More

If you think Holland equals Amsterdam and holidays there equal stag do’s and ‘coffee shops’, then think again. The Netherlands offer excellent opportunities for couples and families to get away from all of that and experience the real Netherlands. Stay in a lovely rural location like the St Nicolaashoeve, go for walks in the countryside, visit the local city farm... More

My husband and I spent three days at the farm in April 2012. Our apartment above the farmer's residence was well equipped and sparkling clean. The beds were cozy. Gerhard clearly loves his animals and the twice daily rhythm of milking. The farm's location, though in a very small town, is convenient for day trips to major cities and attractions,... More

We stayed for a week in one of the two bedroom apartments that had 2 twin beds in each. We were warmly welcomed by Gerard and any questions we had he answered. The facilities were great; could do our laundry. The beds were very comfortable and the layout worked really well for a family of four. Loved the landscape; the... More

My party, some of whom had very young children, were here for about a week. A really excellent "rural" escape - manageable (but only just!) depending on public transport, but would be better with a car. With a car, would make a nice and convenient jumping-off point for Amsterdam and the other northern Dutch cities. Really lovely landscape in the... More

Spent six nights there and loved the surroundings, and the proprietors were first rate! This was my fourth time to the Amsterdam area and staying at Sint Nicolaashoeve enabled my family to have a much more affordable and relaxed visit. No questions were left unanswered and we appreciated the attentiveness of Gerard and his wife in coaching us about the... More
