This well-known Resort, with one of the most beautiful cascade settings in northern Thailand, seem to have seen much better days. Much-needed maintenance has been neglected, service is poor, and the quality of food is mediocre. This is in sharp contrast to my visit only several years ago! What was once a beautiful rose of the north of Thailand, winning... More

Was here for 2 nights with my girlfriend and was surprised that it was so far up in the mountains. But all the activities and things around was close with a very service friendly staff and good drivers made the stay fantastic. The room and view was amazing. No bugs at all and very helpful when we also checked out.... More

We booked a package worth THB18000+ for 2 nights in this resort. We were drawn by the ad that gave us the impression of a luxurious resort next to waterfall and even Angelina Jolie visited there. When we arrived, our expectation was dashed to pieces completely to the extent that we felt not comfortable being there. The swimming pool was... More

we touch down Chiang Mai on a night flight. our friend who drove us there got lost on way to hotel , the journey from airport took us more than 2 hours. checking in with parrots squeaking at night is a bit eerie. was shown to a room overlooking waterfalls. view was superb. with waterfalls running through the resort. our... My husband and I, have spent four days in the resort. It was absolutely a dream, "Garden of Eden" on earth; little huts nested within a gorgeous garden, waterfalls, wondering ducks and peacocks, in the forest, by a brook. The rooms are equipped with all accessories one needs. The service-team is very welcoming, helpful and cooperative and the food is... More

Our driver in Chiang Mai insisted that we have a meal at Sukantara as it "is a beautiful location with waterfalls and peacocks." The food was the worse that I have had during my month traveling around Thailand--expensive and poor quality. The service was very poor with our meals coming out one at a time so that one person received... More

We unexpectedly stayed here for one night and it turned out to be unexpected great! We had a good Thai dinner there by the waterfall with few animals around us. I love the natural atmosphere. The food was tasty, we had early dinner as the kitchen is closed at 8pm. Don't expecting a luxury here as it is not. If... More

We are a family of 4. We booked 2 rooms for two nights in a Deluxe Lanna Cottage. We were expecting a very quiet place, secluded in a beautiful surrounding, definitely something special to end of our week stay in Chiang Mai: the hotel was not up to our expectation at all so we left one day earlier for that... If you want to see mae rim, stay in comfort and not pay an arm and a leg (vs the four seasons resort) this is the place to stay at. The good: the service, the food and the landscape/scenery is fantastic. It's right by the waterfall. The room and bathroom are a good size. There are chickens, geese and peacocks... More

I spent 3 days at Sukantara Cascade last August 2-5, 2013. We booked 4 rooms, and we enjoyed our stay there very much. The food was marvelous and service was superb, in addition to massage beside the water falls.
