I have conducted two yoga retreats at this lovely venue. The assistance and friendliness assists in every way with big thanks to Boat, Sam and Aya for all their extra work. The quiet motel is nestled away on a picturesque lagoon. The vegetarian dishes are like no other, particularly the mushrooms so do eat there as well. There is also... More

No fresh coffee included in/at breakfast. Bakery not well staffed and fresh coffee prices seemed excessive. Long way from city center and no businesses in walking distance. Over priced, but the bedding is good and most of staff are friendly. Will not return.

Our visit at this hotel was under very difficult circumstances. From day one till the last, everybody at the hotel made us feel at home. Not one request was denied. Always a smile. Spotless rooms. Very good food. The location of the hotel might be a little of the beaten track, but with the (free) bicycles, nothing was out of... More

We wanted a hotel outside the city, and this suited us well. It has a very fine lagoon right at the premises. Though it seems this is threatened, as part of it is freshly filled in. Without the lagoon with its bird life and flowers, the place would lose its major attraction. We enjoyed breakfast and dinner though service was... More

When we were there (Feb 14) we were almost the only guests in a large (maybe 100 rooms?) complex. It's 40 mins from Chiang Mai (600B) next to a beautiful lagoon. If you need a rest from Chiang Mai, it is lovely with a great pool, nice walks, bike rides and so on. The decor is 1980s which felt almost... More

I was surprised when entering the room as I knew that was quite an old hotel bu the room condition was clean and comfortable. - Staff is wonderful! They all are smiling all the time and happy to service you. - Price was sooooo cheap compared to what I have experienced - Food taste great with full variety of thai... More

We read many positive reviews of Mae Rim Lagoon but were not very impressed with the place, though it might still be considered good value for the money. Rooms are dated, but clean. The bed was very hard and our request for a cushion or mattress pad drew a quizzical response. Pillows were on the flat side. Wi-Fi Internet access... More

My husband and I came here for 2 days/1 night last weekend and liked it so much we returned again this weekend. It is away from the highway so the only sounds you hear are the birds and there are a lot here because of the huge lagoon which is filled with pink lotus flowers. The grounds are big and... More

This place was above and beyond expectations! Granted, it is not the Four Seasons (which is right around the corner), but the service and food is every bit as good. The property has been around for a while...is being updated gradually...but is more than you could expect for the money. Transporation to local attractions, food is off the charts, people... More

We rented a motorcycle in Chiang Mai, and used that to drive out to Mae Rim, about 45 minutes drive. It made exploring the area very easy. The rooms are decently appointed for the price range of the hotel. Our room had a nice balcony with chairs and a table. Didnt try the pool, but it looked very inviting. The... More
