We booked 3 nights at Nethergill Farm on the strength of seeing it on Countrywise Kitchen, and it was all and more that we hoped for. Fiona is absolutely lovely, and provided a wonderful welcome on arrival (mmm, those flapjacks!) Our room was super comfortable and warm - the new biomass boiler is definitely earning its keep. Great breakfasts (and... More

From the moment we walked in the door, the owners made us feel at home and most welcome. The room was spotless, warm, comfortable, with views out on the dale. Evening meal was fabulous home cooked, with lovely wine, and cosy surroundings with the wood burner blazing. Breakfasts were first class. All in all a lovely stay, and wouldn't hesitate... More

We loved Nethergill, great hosts, perfect food for hungry walkers (and good wine too). Lovely beds .... and bathrooms. Just what we needed after two excellent walks from the farm. Such interesting hosts too and a fascinating place.

This was our second visit to Nethergill and we brought our friends to experience what must be the best B & B in the country! We had just completed the Speyside Way in Scotland and booked here for two night's R & R on the way home. We had been here 2 years ago as Dales Way walkers. Fiona's welcome... More

This has to be one of the best b & b's we have ever stayed at. It's in a really remote & tranquil spot. We arrived in the guests lounge to a homely wood burning fire & delicious home made flapjack! The breakfast was fantastic with home made bread & all meat sourced locally. We did have an evening meal... More

What a warm welcome after a very long, tiring but satisfying day. The end of the day had turned wet but we were welcomed by Fiona who had obviously been looking out for us. She took our wet coats and boots and ushered us into a warm lounge where tea and homemade flapjacks were provided. There was a log burner with... More

Although the Dales Way is mostly well served with accommodation, there is a paucity around the watershed crossing between Buckden and Dent. Nethergill is ideally situated on the path, a working farm but one where the proprietors really care for their guests. Delicious locally-sourced home-made food, and a telescope to look for otters. "The temple-haunting martlet doth approve."

We happened on Nethergill Farm just when the elements were getting on top of us. It was May, the rest of the England was basking in sun but we were being buffeted by a bitter wind and icy rain on The Dales Way. Since it had been raining for most of the week the ground was sodden and we had... More

We stayed here during our Dales Way walk. Most hospitable and the tea and flapjack at the end of our day's walk was much appreciated. Fiona's evening meal was delicious and truly 'home cooked'. Such a shame we had to leave the next day to continue our walk on the wettest day of our week.
