Chose this place randomly and so very pleased we did. The accommodation and breakfast provided excellent. The owners very pleasant and service fantastic. Would highly recommend this place for a quiet countryside retreat. The Sheppey Inn (public house next door) serves top quality food. They have live music on certain nights. The nearest places for shopping are Wells or Glastonbury... More

As a disabled person we stayed in room 5. It was excellent. Warm friendly welcome with nothing to much trouble. Outside the patio doors its only 2 metres to the railings overlooking the river Sheppey. Both mornings we saw a wild otter on the river bank. There is good choice of food at breakfast, a snooker table, darts board and... More

Stayed for one night on a visit to nearby attractions. We were sorry that we were unable to stay longer. It was absolutely fantastic. We stayed in the farmhouse which has a very large bedroom with a four poster bed and a huge on-suite. There is a lovely guest lounge a super games room with table tennis, full size snooker... More

We stayed one night and found our rooms to be very comfortable and spacious. Those with more limited mobility appreciated the level access and space to move around in the rooms. The provision of extras such as a 'grabber' to pick things up off the floor if dropped was a nice touch. I felt the TVs were rather small for... More

Debbie and her father Terry are the epitome of wonderful hosts - nothing is too much trouble and they really care about their guests and their stay with them. Their attention to detail can be seen in the rooms - plenty of storage, lots of small extra touches in bedrooms and bathroom, and all is very clean and well decorated.... More

We booked at the last minute and speaking to Debbie on the phone gave me a refreshing welcome before we had even arrived. On arrival after an incredible long drive into the countryside we were welcomed and shown to our room in the Swallow Barn with tea and biscuits in the lounge, it could have been served on the patio... This is going to be a real mixed bag of superlatives and criticism. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at Double-Gate Farm. I am disabled and always pleased (and relieved) to find an accommodation that will allow me to bathe. The room we had in the RIverside Suites was large and airy. But, I have to comment as others have,... More

We have stayed at Double Gate a couple of times and have had a very pleasant stay on both occasions. It is located a little off the beaten track in Godney on the Somerset Levels, but is ideal for visits to Wells, Glastonbury and the local wildlife reserves. The Sheppey is right next door, which is a bonus as it's... More

Booked Double-Gate for Glastonbury 2013, arrived on the Sunday and stayed till the Wednesday before heading of to the festival early in the morning our hosts even made us a packed lunch as we didn't make breakfast. After the festival we arrived back on the Sunday and the hosts couldn't be more helpful with us. They even looked after my... More

Having booked this as a 'LUXURY' accomodation, we expected just that. On arriving, the grounds, facilities (Games room, laundry) looked great, it is a beautiful , peaceful setting, and we were very excitied to see our luxury room...This is where the 'Oh dear' came in..On opening the stone faced, appealing annex to the Riverside Suite.. we were faced with what...
