We had a meal here and it was very disappointing. The waitress was lovely and couldn't have been more helpful. We ate here a year ago and it was excellent so i don't know if it's changed hand or what. There was a poor selection on the menu almost half of it was unavailable. The food was tasteless and overpriced for... More

Excellent food, I really can't understand what people previously have commented on. It's a really really decent pub, fantastic value for money as far as food is concerned and in general a very good atmospheric pub.

Stopped here for lunch based on previous reviews. The chicken and rice soup seemed to be made with frozen veg along with some rice and chicken stock. It would have been nice to actually have had some chicken in it. The main course was steak pie which came as a bowl of stew with a pastry on top so not... More

We visited Houston Inn last Saturday, this was our first visit since the major renovations to the Pub/Restaurant. What a transformation, the place looks open fresh and airy. The fireplace is still the main feature in the restaurant, really looking forward to going to the restaurant in winter, I bet it will be cosy...... The menu is traditional with several... More

Here for a private function on a first time visit. The place was packed on a typically Scottish warm, sunny Saturday night. Decor and ambience superb. Very friendly and well laid out. Private function area and beer garden excellent with a chillout area of sofas inside. Stayed until the death and had a great time. The staff were amazing. Always... More

Had not visited this establishment in a number of years. The transformation was astounding. Great credit to the owners for turning this from a working mans pub into a delightful bar/restaurant/B&B. Good Beer, Good Food.....clean toilets..... a delight to visit.

Had lunch here on Friday with an old friend. Had so much trouble choosing off the menu, everything sounded good, and everything we ordered tasted good. Service was a little slow, but I think it was more that the wait staff were unhurried and gave you plenty of time to relax and enjoy the company of your friends. Will definitely... More
