We have eaten here a few times and would definitely go back - all our meals have been very tasty, especially the fish dishes. The service is friendly and there is a good atmosphere as it is also a pub. It is certainly above average and has a chef who maintains consistently high standards.

We made a last minute booking here as we couldn't face a long journey after arriving back from the Isles of Scilly. It proved to be an excellent choice and fantastic value for money. Over the years we have stayed in either a gastro-pub or a hotel near to Penzance, both of which are lovely but twice the price of... More

My friend and I spent 5 nights recently. The accommodations here, all en-suite (there are three rooms, and we stayed in the center) are fitted with cable TV, bottled water, and water kettle for coffee/tea; thelarge bed is extremely comfortable, perfect for a good night's rest. There are views over a small central square in the village, which is very charming.... More

Stayed for one night & had dinner & breakfast both of which were excellent. The staff were great, helpful & amusing & the room was comfortable enough. The shower was very difficult to regulate & most of the time was far too hot, although someone came to have a go at showing us how to reset it, it was still... More

We stayed in room 3 which was lovely and spacious with original sash windows to let in light and air. The decor was pleasant with a nice clean fresh feel and nice large towels. The bathroom was large with a large and powerful shower, the only odd thing about the bathroom was the clear window panes so you have to... More

We had a perfect meal last week. The Coldstreamer really sees the sense of concentrating on fresh, well-matched, high-quality local ingredients, cooked superbly, and presented without "gastro" or "foodie" embellishments or fuss. The manager Derek Power was brilliant – helpful and pleasant, but never familiar. Wish we didn't live 350 miles away. Thank you chef, and thanks Derek. Keep up... More

Really good night stop within close proximity to Isles of Scilly ferry terminal Food really good with impressive support for gluten free diets! Staff very helpful making special arrangements for very early breakfast Great beers Front room very good but you need to be a sound sleeper to miss the church bell that likes to advise you of the time... Starting with the positive, the menu, food and wine was excellent. We could not fault it at all. The chef is clearly imaginative and talented. However, we found that the rooms did not live up to the standard downstairs. The window in our room was clearly rotten, I did not feel that the carpet was clean and it all felt... More

We were given a warm welcome by Vincent and shown to our spacious room on the first floor. We ate in on each night of our four-night stay and worked our way through a really very good pub dinner menu. We thoroughly enjoyed every meal – and the entertainment provided, thanks to Vincent’s Basque banter both with us and the... More

We stayed for three days and thoroughly enjoyed this pub. The food is exceptional. Local ingredients, interesting creations, always very tasty. The staff were amazing, with a great sense of humour and a warm-hearted welcome for us. Don't believe the reviews about the 'rude' service: they were written by people who just did not get the humour. Thanks again to... More
