This historic hotel is quite beautiful with romantic courtyards filled with plants and live hummingbirds. The rooms have high beam ceilings and full baths. They are spacious and photogenic. At night I was less thrilled. There are no heaters in the rooms and we came in January at 40 degrees. The street noise was also quite loud. But others in... More

Birthplace of Zorro. This was a huge, beautiful old hacienda, but don't go in the winter when it's cold, eating and activities are all outdoors so no heat, you have to eat breakfast in 30 degree weather in your coat and mittens and a hat. Dogs at night keep you up for hours, they are "visiting" all night. Drunks or party... More

This hotel was one if the 3 we stayed in during our copper canyon train trip . They all belong to the Balderrama family and have the same overall quality . This hotel has a lot of character, it is an old hacienda where apparently the legend of Zorro was born . It is very well located, next to the... More

My girlfriend and I stayed here completely by chance, we had stayed in a sister hotel and when the hotel we had booked gave away our room we came to a hotel we knew we could trust. Miguel Angel, the "front of house", is absolutely fantastic! His English was perfect and he truly is the heart and soul of the... More

We stayed at this hotel at the beginning and the end of our Copper Canyon tour. The hotel is actually 3 haciendas that have been combined to form one facility. The first night we stayed on the lower level street side. This was a large room and there was not too much noise from the street after 11 pm. A... More

Spent two nights as part of Copper Canyon tour. Hotel is in a beautiful former colonial mansion. Beautiful grounds and a nice barside pool. Breakfast buffet was ok. Rooms can be primitive and outside rooms noisy. Lots of dogs barking and roosters crowing. Hotel is near city center and the town is quite safe and friendly.

We were traveling via the El Chepe train and stayed 2 nights here and very happy with our stay. The room was comfortable, well appointed and spotless. The staff was friendly, attentive and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay here. We had all our meals at the hotel and the food was excellent and surprisingly quick. The menu was verbal... More

I think this must be an absolutely fantastic place if you are traveling with an organized group and won't have to deal with the front office staff. As I traveled solo, I found the staff at the reception desk either not well trained or given some very tight guidelines on how to operate. It is not that they were not... More

I booked a room at this hotel on Booking.com after having viewed room prices at $271 for two people, two beds, one night on other sites. On booking.com, because I was online in Mexico, I was quoted $1451 pesos ($89.76 US). I made my reservation for 10 days in the future. After having made my reservation, I saw the same... More
