I didn´t stay at the hotel, but had all my meals here during my stay. I felt welcome every time and it felt wonderful to sit at the terrace overlooking the mountains with a nice cup of coffee and a glas of fresh orange juice :-)

We stayed at Pachnes for one night and we didn't regret it. The rooms we're very clean and nicely furnished. We enjoyed a nice dinner and a friendly chat with the owner. I'll happily stay at Pachnes again whenever I'm back in Agia Roumeli!

Stelios has set the tone here with his easy hospitality, great food and clean, good value accommodation. He's a fan of the mountains and nature and you can tell from the people you meet here that the charm is contagious and they're all fans of the relaxed quietness coupled with an easy social atmosphere. The food and breakfast was all... More

Its almost like I don't want to share this little gem with other people. I would like to keep it our familys special place, but Pachnes and Stelios deserves all the praise he can get. Perfect for the Soul. We stayed for 8 days.

I have been to Pachnes several times, the last one in June 2014. Samaria Gorge and its surroundings trails are great for trekking and Agia Roumeli is the perfect getaway to enjoy the sea and the sun. The rooms are clean and nicely decorated, and the hosts, Stelios and Claire, are always polite and helpful.

I stayed here in May 2014 with several friends after hauling ourselves down the Samaria Gorge. Stelios was on top form and we enjoyed a fantastic night in the village. Rooms and breakfast were fantastic; I will definitely return!

Nice, quiet and friendly place to stay, simple clean and good. When you arrive out of the Samaria gorge this is a very nice place to stay. Smal village and also nice to explore (a part) from the E4 waling path which is beautiful here. Very friendly owner will serve you a nice breakfast

Don't make the mistake of sprinting down the Samarian Gorge so as to catch the boat out - Agia Roumeli is the best place we found on the south coast: small and, as yet, not over-touristy but with enough to give you a good night out as a reward for the day's exertions. We had a wild night till the... More

I'd been disappointed when I stayed in Agia 5 years ago, the place seemed a bit bland and touristy, so I was delighted to find Pachnes this time - it's just what the place needed. Quiet, clean, friendly, stylish and with great food. When you just can't face any more lamb, try here for a refreshing change; beautiful salads and... More

Spent a few enjoyable days at Pachnes while hiking across the south coast. Rooms newly renovated and clean. The owner Stellios is polite and very helpful about walking possibilities across the coast and mountains of Crete.
