Nice, quiet and friendly place to stay, simple clean and good. When you arrive out of the Samaria gorge this is a very nice place to stay. Smal village and also nice to explore (a part) from the E4 waling path which is beautiful here. Very friendly owner will serve you a nice breakfast

Don't make the mistake of sprinting down the Samarian Gorge so as to catch the boat out - Agia Roumeli is the best place we found on the south coast: small and, as yet, not over-touristy but with enough to give you a good night out as a reward for the day's exertions. We had a wild night till the... More

I'd been disappointed when I stayed in Agia 5 years ago, the place seemed a bit bland and touristy, so I was delighted to find Pachnes this time - it's just what the place needed. Quiet, clean, friendly, stylish and with great food. When you just can't face any more lamb, try here for a refreshing change; beautiful salads and... More

Spent a few enjoyable days at Pachnes while hiking across the south coast. Rooms newly renovated and clean. The owner Stellios is polite and very helpful about walking possibilities across the coast and mountains of Crete.

Whenever I think of the South Coast of Crete, I think of Pachnes where my husband, friends and myself always find a sanctuary with Stellios and his family, Here is peace and quiet, interesting people, great food and super rooms. The ideal place to stay: alone or with friends and family - or just to hang out on your way... More

After a beautiful hike through the stunning Samaria Gorge we ended up at this nice B&B. The owner made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. The rooms are simple but nice and clean. They have been renovated 4 years ago but still look very new, especially the bathroom. A delicious breakfast with fresh orange juice and of... More

We enjoyed a wonderful stay. Stelios was a great host and very helpful although never intrusive. The rooms look brand new although he told us they were 4 years old. He clearly takes a lot of pride in his b&b. Breakfast hit the spot and I would recommend his b & b wholeheartedly.

...........and will return. A friend and I first stayed here in 2011 when we were walking east to west across Crete. I liked it that much that I said I would return with my wife. The rooms are simple, comfortable and clean with very good showers, and a sunny balcony on which to rest your weary feet after trudging down... More

After visiting Athens and Chania (North-west Crete), Pachnes was the perfect relaxing stay. The rooms were very clean and the hospitality of Stelios, Julius and Valia made our short stay very enjoyable! It was the closest B&B to the hiking path after descending from Samaria Gorge and away from the crowds at the beach. The hike along the coast towards... More
