It is not often you have the opportunity to stay in a bed and breakfast motel in your own city, but that happened when we recently attended a friend's significant birthday on the far side of town. Johnstone's on Oxley is a custom built B&B. The friendly hosts Ken and Evelyn have given thought to almost every aspect of the... More

Needed a room for an overnight stay to attend a 50th. Had never stayed in a B&B before and will definitely be back. The room was perfect for what we needed and beautifully decorated......very clean and great comfortable bed. Breaky was delicious and the onsite managers were very friendly. Highly recommend.

Charming room, spotlessly clean, with a comfy bed. Thoughtful touches like bottled water and chocolate snacks in the fridge in the room. The included breakfast was simple but delicious and beautifully presented, perfectly cooked eggs, hot toast, real butter and lovely fresh fruit salad and juice. The owners were friendly but unobtrusive. They obviously work hard to maintain such professional... More

We spent 1 night staying in this property. The room and en suite was beautifully presented and clean. (I don't agree with a previous comment about the room being basic - can't imagine what else could have been put in the room). There was tea/coffee, a bar fridge with water and even some biscuits. Plenty of toiletries in the bathroom.... More

Stayed here for one night and while the room and bathroom were clean and tidy, it felt very basic. I love staying at B&B's and while this was fine for one night, I felt the room could have more personal touches to make it a bit more romantic. The house was nice from what we saw and the cooked breakfast... More

I'm not usually a B&B kind of Gal but on this occasion I was travelling solo & away for a number of nights I decided a B&B might be the way to go. I booked Johnstone's on Oxley purely based on past Trip Advisor reviews & I was not disappointed. Ken meet me on arrival, showed me around & explained... More

Recently stayed here with my partner for one night. Bedrooms are all upstairs of this old converted Queenslander home. Very welcoming owners and we only booked 15min before our arrival. We were the only guests so not sure how noise would travel with others present. We stayed in Room 1 which has the bath with spa jets. Whilst not overly... More

Wanted to stay somewhere with a little more soul than a motel. You have it with Johnstone's. I stayed in Room 4 which is in the rear of the property. All of the rooms (4) are on the top floor so 2 flights of steps need to be considered for those with knee problems, particularly as you will presumably be... More

Reception was freindly and helpful notwithsdanding our late arrivals due to airline delays. Breakfast in the morning was a treat, the attention to detail was amazing. The standard of hygene in... Stayed here for one night in October 2012. Booked Room 1 - which has the spa. $135.00 - booked through the property website. Friendly reception from Ken upon arrival. Took us on a quick tour and showed us where to park the car (in enclosed front yard). Room 1 is upstairs overlooking the main road but we did not have... More
