I stayed at Chateau de Riell for three nights and didn't want to leave. Everything was so relaxing and the rooms were absolutely perfect. I would definitely recommend a room in the tower. The spring breeze through the windows was so enticing. And the food was just outstanding. I was planning on exploring the whole region around the hotel, but... More

The castle setting is like somewhere in a 'fairy-tale'. We stayed in one of the garden rooms which are set in the stunning grounds of the castle. Our room was quiet and comfortable with a balcony and a small kitchen. The staff are friendly and helpful and dinner in the restaurant is a 'dining experience'. The surrounding villages and scenery... More

Wonderful resort in a classic French village with narrow winding streets and an old church - the chateau has rooms in the main building and in the cottage - the rooftop pool is a delight and the setting is magnificent! The restaurant serves gourmet food in a classic setting - the staff in the restaurant are fantastic! There is a... More

We felt at home from the moment we arrived. The hotel staff were welcoming and attentive and the setting outstanding. The old chateau has a wonderfully authentic eccentricity about it. The decor, the tiny elevator, the more recent breakfast room addition, the dungeon and the rooftop pool conversion make it a truly unique experience. It definitely has an old world... More

An excellent Relais et Chateaux hotel in the heart of the Pyrenees mountains in the village of Molitg-les-Bains. This was my second time in this hotel. Superb and friendly service and outstanding gastronomy. Pricey but worth every Euro. I shall return

Organising a wedding for 40 people on behalf of a couple living in the UK requires a certain professionalism, which the staff at the Chateau de Riell certainly showed that they have in plenty. Most of the organisation was done by email, with one short visit a few weeks before the event, and all went exactly according to plan. The... More

One can imagine riding a horse up the steep valley 100 years ago and turning a corner to see this beautiful Chateau overlooking the cascading river below. The same experience awaits you as you drive your car up the twisting roadway to Chateau De Riell. On arrival a very gracious team attended to our every need. Indeed it was impressive,... More

This 3-day stay was the highlight of our 10 days trip, passing from the coast to mountains in the Pyrenees Orientales. The small nearby village is perfect, the chateau's location is perfect, the roof-top pool was perfect for our 1.5 year off to cool off in (it was 30-38 degrees in August), in addition to the "normal" pool at ground... We booked this hotel for 3 days to celebrate a special occasion. The location of this property is magnificent, however, we were placed in a room (in the castle as requested) facing the entrance driveway and could not enjoy the view anywhere else because of bad weather. The room was cavernous, relatively small and over-furnished. On arrival, we booked our... More

Once again, found this thanks to Travelzoo. Never been on our mind to visit this area of France. Sadly, we were only here for three nights. We stayed in one of the adjoining cottages(Cedre), which was lovely and cosy, and bizarrely Gaudi-inspired. We ate in the restaurant for the first night, and yes, at 60 Euros a head, a tad... More
