Don't waste your time or money I would give this a wide berth. Not a four star by a long shot. Very unclean. Don’t waste your time or money. So atrocious we didn’t stay for our breakfast. Here is a list - we tried not to let it ruin our break: Whipped cream not clotted cream with scones (although this... More

Stayed here for 2 nights 15th August with our 2 dogs. The welcome was very friendly to us & the dogs! Very good food & service. Staff were very attentive. Garden magical. Really loved this place and can't wait to return for longer next time. The pub/ dining room is full of character. The proprietor even lit the log fire... More

The setting is stunning, the grounds are beautiful and the look of hotel from the outside is amazing. We didn't stay, just popped in for a drink. The bar was 5 deep when we arrived, on a Sunday evening. With 1 person serving. Who was grumpy. There seems to be no rush or speed to get you served, it's actually... More

My husband and I recently stayed in this hotel and will definitely be returning. The hotel has a wonderful garden at the rear with plenty of seating, a beautiful large pond and space for young children to play. Great for families. The food was lovely, generous portions and reasonably priced. Our room was very cosy and beautifully decorated. We appreciated... More

We arrived on Saturday evening to enjoy food in the garden and bar the setting (which is lovely) everything else was below average. The starters arrived which followed minutes later by our main course meaning we had to have both together!! Not acceptable... The main courses were very bland indeed with no flavour - also there was no offer of... More

Good points location Terrible hotel the whole hotel is run down. The rooms were dirty and unclean Service was bad from staff Bar was closed on a Saturday night at 10.15 when we arrived back. Certainly not a 4 star prices are very overrated Would not stay again

An imposing building situated alongside the busy A429 in the hamlet of Fossebridge. The front facade gives no clue as to peaceful bars and the wonderful garden to the rear. There are two bars and a dining room all of which are located in the oldest part of the building and are divided by stone archways. They are rustic and... More

Think that this establishment has changed hands recently and are in transition hell by the looks and by our awful lunch experience of this weekend, We highly rated this old hotel for lunches and you can also safely walk dogs from here and let the kids loose in the gardens. The Gardens are beautiful by the way with a nice... More

We popped in for lunch and a drink over Bank Holiday weekend. In the end we just had drinks due to the lengthy wait for food. Staff were more interested in chatting to each other and an elderly woman behind the bar had no idea how to serve. Worst of all the childrens wooden train outside fell over and a... More

we stayed here for one night on the bank holiday weekend. the kids had a blast in the gardens. the food was good, staff was very nice albeit a bit rushed off their feet. They were probably too understaffed especially in the restaurant. Because we booked last minute we were not able to get a larger room, which is not... More
