Great location. Waihi is very good place: long, beautiful beach; places to walk, good restaurants short distance and good access to Auckland,Rotorura, Coromandel. The lodge is located in perfect place, 5 min walks to the beach, 15 min by bikes to the centre. The thoughtful attitude to guests. We felt as we staid at parents home : homemade bakery,a cozy... We stayed for 2 Nights and enjoyed very much. The studio was charming, large and very clean. The owners, Ali & Greg where the best hosts we had on our trip. Very lovely people and also very generous. They share the balcony with the guests for having breakfast, we enjoyed staying there and did feel welcome and comfortable. The breakfast... More

We stayed 4 days with Greg and Ali over the Christmas time. The room was perfect - clean and elegant- and the breakfast the best one we have got during our trip. The beautiful beach is just a couple of meters across the street. Greg and Ali are lovely people, very dedicated. All trip tips they gave to us were... More

We ard in NZ for our honeymoon and stayed with Ali and Greg for 2 nights - well we wished we had booked for more! The lodge has great reviews so we knew it would be a great stay but didn't realise how thoughtful and kind our hosts would be. We stayed in the beach studio and had our own... More

We stayed at the Waihi Beach Lodge for a couple of nights during our honeymoon and we had a great time. Ali and Greg were the nicest hotel/B&B owners we had during our trip. They cooked us a lovely breakfast every morning and gave us some great advice on the surrounding area. Our room was the Beach Studio Apartment which... More

This is a wonderful place to stay - much of New Zealand does not get the B&B concept but Ali and Greg have a perfect model. We stayed in the Mayor room for 2 nights. Very comfortable and private at the ground level. Ali and Greg, the hosts, were very helpful in suggesting activities in the areamand orienting us to... More

Fantastic location close to the beautiful beach and wonderful, welcoming hosts. What more could you want? We couldn't have been looked after better, the rooms had everything you could have needed and the home baking was certainly an additional bonus!

Booked a five day stay. Stated policy was 2 day minimum... Found upon arrival this property isn't actually in waihi beach , it's outside of town , as well as located directly fronting a busy highway/ motoway. . Don't trust their description , it's deceptive. When I went to leave, after one night, having found excellent accommodation really IN waihi,... More

This reviewer did not stay at our property. We received a booking earlier in the year for 5 nights. We understood from various emails their family was coming to stay with friends locally and Waihi Beach Lodge provided the overflow so their family could stay closely together. We accepted their booking and they accepted the terms of their booking which... More

Greg and Ali are the perfect hosts. You feel at home from the moment you arrive. We travelled with a person in a wheelchair and they had everything we needed to make our stay as comfortable as possible. They gave us great tips what to visit. They know very much about things to see and do. We won't forget the... More

Greg and Ali made us feel like old friends welcomed into their home. Fabulous breakfasts, and great recommendations for things to do. Lent us a spade for our visit to Hot Water beach, and a body board for riding the surf at the beach across the road. We only stayed a few nights on our trip around New Zealand, so... More
