We booked for one night but stayed for three as the location, views, accommodation and friendly hosts are not always found together. We found this hotel by chance, after having driven for miles in driving rain and fog. The room was huge and had the most wonderful view over the bay. Stay at Whangaroa, if you wish to experience a 'Bay of Islands' without the tourist hustle - similar scenery of bays and islands, many 'holes in the rock', and good fishing and sailing. The Whangaroa Lodge welcomed us and assisted in all our adventures

As a traveling sales rep, I am always looking for good accommodation, that is clean, quiet and handy to everywhere. Whangaroa motel is all that and more, the owners are very friendly and helpful, the rooms are immaculate, and views are amazing. I love staying here when traveling through the north. And there's free wifi which is a bonus.
