After a wet and windy day walking the South Downs Way this clean, comfortable, cosy cottage was a good place to spend the night and I really appreciated a nice hot bath. I had lots of wet clothes and they put them in the drier for me and I felt well cared for. Lovely people and the breakfast was pretty... More

We stay in Hobbs Cottage about once a year when cycling the South Downs Way. Rooms are always spotless, the building is a carefully restored 400 year old gem, the breakfast is reliably top quality and nothing seems too much trouble for Wendy. Needless to say, would definitely stay again!

We had a very small bedroom with the bathroom downstairs although we did notice that there was anothr room available. It was a most uncomfortable time. At breakfast our hostess decided to give her cat a good old scratch and then serve our toast. I was speachless!!! I will never return

Hobbs cottage is over 400 years old and it is a very quaint, traditional style B & B. The room we stayed in was full of ornaments and little knick knacks i.e. not in the minimalist style which might be more usually encountered. Wendy was helpful, friendly and cooks a great breakfast, I was happy with the ensuite but would... More

We cycled the South Downs Way and Wendy & Terry provided us with the perfect stop over. We arrived after a long day in the saddle and the first question was 'beer or wine' - we knew we had made a great choice!! Fantastic hosts, lovely room (three of us in family room with en-suite shower) and easy walk for... More

Like others on this I stayed here whilst walking the South Downs Way and this was a lovely warm place to stay after a hard (very cold) days walking. The old cottage has many of its original features and is a short walk (over the motorway) to a good pub with nice food. The nearby Marks & Spencer's is great... More

Wendy and Terry invite you to stay in their home, which is a picturesque and ancient building with 1980's style additions. You couldn't ask for nicer hosts, and they are right on the South Downs Way which crosses the front of their driveway. Ceilings are low and unless you are in the ensuite room your seperate bathroom is downstairs. Massive... More

Freindliest and warmest welcome to two weary and deeply muddy cyclists. Terry and Wendy looked after us like we were their long lost children, and washed our clothes, and cracked open the beers and served a really good hearty breakfast. It's their home, and not a hotel but all the better for it.
