We stayed at the Grand Hotel in Helensville in December. We had a very nice room that was very quiet. For dinner we ate in the bar - fish, chips and salad - very nice. We also had a few quiet drinks in the garden bar - very pleasant.

Thanks so much Bonnie and all your workers/buddies for being so accommodating to mum and myself. We came with no expectations and we really enjoyed our stay. Hope the kittens do well....rooms were very clean and beds were comfortable. Bathroom pristine.

I organised a booking for a group of 14 guys on a golf trip. I spoke with Bonnie at least 3 times and emailed 3 times over about 4 months. The hotel has 12 rooms and most of our guys wanted their own rooms - so I arranged a total buyout. About 2 weeks before we arrived I emailed through... More

I took my partner, son and sons girlfriend to dinner and was highly disappointed. There was the 4 of us and 2 other couples there and it still took us over a hour to get any service. I had to get a menu from another table and we were taken through the back of the bar to even order a... More

I saw the unique old building, all refurbished & full of character, so I stopped in for meal & a beer. The staff was so friendly, I decided to stay The food was wonderful! Pork chops with apple sauce, perfectly seasoned, vegies with cream sauce & baked potatoes, crispy outside & soft inside along with a cold Spreight's. The room... More

Staying here was very stressful for my family as we did not get treated well AT ALL. The owner, Bonnie, was very rude and gave the hotel such an unwelcoming feeling, made me want to leave ASAP. The hotel was a very nice place to stay and the food, good, but the service I received was incredibly degrading. The beds... More

I know there are a lot of good reviews about this Hotel which is why we booked it but our experience was very disappointing. We were 3 couples traveling in one van and had booked our rooms 6 weeks prior to the date. We chose Helensville as we were having a road trip from Tauranga to Dargaville and thought it... More

Bit dated , but service & welcome was fantastic. The atmosphere makes you imagine how it may have been in its heyday , the grand staircase on entry lets you know you are in a real old fashion hotel. Courtesy van at our disposal was an added bonus. Breakfast was great value, as were the room rates. Outside courtyard is... More
