The boathouse a small hotel with bedrooms overlooking the canal basin. It only has ten bedrooms mine was on second floor. Only noise was the vessels swinging in the wind. A very pleasant outlook also hills ion background. The Scottish breakfast was fine with a good variety of alternatives. It is right on canal path and looks over a popular... More

The Boathouse is a nice quirky hotel that gives value for money and the staff are really friendly. The room was clean and functional, the restaraunt food was excellent and if you get the chance definately have the traditional Scottish breakfast as long as you don't want to eat for the rest of the day. There is a pleasant walk... More

We booked and stayed at the boathouse again to avoid extortionate city centre prices for the commonwealth games. It was a perfect combination as we relaxed during the day walking and enjoying the beautiful location, ate in the restaurant late afternoon then drove into the city for the games in the evening. We were lucky as we had a marina... More

Somewhere between the sprawling metropolitan areas of Glasgow and Edinburgh is a tranquil spot of calm and quiet. Auchinstarry Marina on the Forth & Clyde canal is the name of this little haven, positioned on its edge is The Boathouse pub, restaurant and hotel. We arrived Saturday evening and were warmly welcomed at reception and escorted to our room overlooking... More

Visited for Commonwealth Games to avoid extortionate city centre prices and as it looked nice online. The room was very nice with everything you needed including an ironing board and decent sized mugs for tea. We had a slight issue with our shower which was quickly fixed. We had a car park view but it wasn't a problem as we... More

I found The Boathouse after I was confirmed my tickets for the Commonwealth Games, and I didn't want to spent in excess of £250 a night to stay in the centre of Glasgow, and so searched for something better priced out of the city. This was spot on - good value (even if expensive for that time of year but... More

My family and I went to the Boathouse last Sunday for the first and last time. The whole experience was horrible and we left after spending almost 100 quid feeling as if we have been completely ripped off. The service was awful. Young inexperienced staff seemed to have no specific area to cover, we had to continually ask see menus,... More

A very enjoyable trip to celebrate our 1st Wedding Anniversary on 15th July 2014. We are in fact now Retired and have a boat moored further down the canal, but have often fancied staying at Auchinstarry. Excellent large room with a very ample bed for my 6ft 3in frame, very comfortable, except we were disturbed by a large 'Cherry picker'... More

Stayed here for 6 nights in early July to catch up with family after 6 weeks touring in Europe. It was a joy to have such a lovely big room that was so clean and comfortable. Enjoyed the ambience in the Bar both pre and après dinner. The breakfast menu had enough choices to satisfy all tastes and the meals... More
