My wife and I regularly used the restaurant at The Boathouse in Kilsyth but made the terrible mistake of staying over after an evening meal. The room was freezing and the carpet in the bedroom was poorly laid with wrinkles that were a tripping hazard. The room was very cold which meant I didn't sleep at all and that necessitated... More

our first time at the Boathouse last night . We enjoyed a wonderful meal in the xmassy restaurant with attentive staff...food was delicious. Hubby said it was the best steak he has eaten in a long time...cooked to perfection. We are going to make a point of returning in the spring and go for a walk. Will be recommending to... More

We were walking the Forth & Clyde, and Union Canal towpaths and The Boathouse was a very convenient overnight stop. Staff were extremely helpful with checking in, and were very friendly. The room was spacious with a great view over the marina. Room was well equipped and clean. A few minor niggles such as the shower wouldn't go above lukewarm... More

Located on a small marina served by the Forth and Clyde canal, an a twenty minute drive to Glasgow, a quality room and restaurant fare are yours at The Boathouse. Our room overlooked the marina, much better than other rooms overlooking the car-park. The room was well furnished and maintained. It was large, had an iron and board as well... More

We decided to stay here as we always eat in the restaurant so wanted to try out one of the rooms. The rooms we were given - The Clyde - was spacious and clean. And the kingsize bed even though it is softer than other beds was comfy and good to sleep in. Breakfast in the morning was lovely and... More

I visited this restaurant on a Sunday with my wife and 2 friends. The setting is nice and the staff were friendly. It was fairly busy, maybe 50-60% full, but the service was slow - slow to take our orders, slow for the food to arrive and slow for the bill to arrive. Prior to our starters arriving a waitress... Room nice. Comfy but very soft bed. lamp missing bulb. Lighting strange and dim. fantastic shower though very scrimped on toiletries. Toilet roll holder needs attention. Some blackness on grout between tiles. Restaurant food excellent in evening. HUGE portions and great choice. Service excellent. Breakfast was odd. No cold buffet eg fruit juices, fruit, yogurt etc. Had to order juice from... More
