We had a week staying at Waikava View in the Lodge & thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The view from the deck to the harbour is glorious. The Lodge is spacious, with enough room for two small families to share (& two bathrooms), well equipped kitchen, large living space & comfortable bedding. The house was immaculately presented. Make sure you have... More

Lovely clean and cosy unit! Comfy bed, and nice little deck to relax on - wish we could have stayed longer!! Take cash, as there is a dinky place to get fish and chips within walking distance of the unit. The local information centre has lovely helpful staff who are only too happy to advise on what to see. We stayed in one of the small units - Harakeke. It was good basic accommodation although you need to self cater as there is nothing close to eat at apart from a fried takeaway truck in the evening. The bed was very comfortable. We would have stayed closer to Owaka if we had known it was not such a long... More

A beautiful holiday home in the Catlins with everything you need to explore the area. Would definitely return for a longer stay. Accommodation had everything u needed to cook and live in comfort. Excellent views.

Would have got a perfect 5*, but for the fact that it was swelteringly hot when we arrived and there was no fan to help cool off (only a heater) and I struggled to get the shower to stay at a steady temperature (swinging between burning and cold). The unit was lovely, the bed was comfortable, the deck was a... More

We stayed three nights with quiet and peaceful environment. Very close to museum and information center. 3-5 min drive to propoise bay and curio bay where we can encounter yellow eye penguin in late evening. Hector dolphin can also be found in propoise bay. Good choice to stay here to explore Catlins.

Great place to stay nice and close to everything you want to see around the Catlins. We stayed with8 people and had plenty of space or hot water for the showers. We just went for a weekend and I would of liked to have heads up that there wasn't even a dairy close by for some milk but saying that... More

We stayed in the unit called Harakeke for one night stop. It has one bedroom, large lounge and well equipped kitchenette even has an egg poacher very welcome. The free Laundry was an unexpected extra and also very welcome. The unit itself was beautifully kept and very very clean. The view from the window was amazing and so peaceful in... More

We stayed in Toi Toi unit for one night and loved it! We were exploring The Catlins so used Waikawa as one of our stop-over nights. The unit is one bedroom with a lounge, kitchenette, a comfortable bed/room and large bathroom. The free laundry facilities were a welcomed, unexpected bonus. There is a lovely view out to the estuary and... More

This is the perfect place for a quiet getaway....The setting is gorgeous....the photos on the website don't do it justice...... The peace and quiet was just what we all needed...however we did have a couple problems that wouldn't have been that big an issue had someone been available to help out. However, it turned a bit sour and but a... More
