Lovely friendly welcome from staff. Room exceeded expectations. Large room and bathroom. Very well furnished and clean. Luxury bathroom with stand alone bath. Food very good. It is set in a quant village in beautiful surroundings.

Amazing food, great company, great location - can't fault. I wanted to leave a rubbish review so I could be more sure of staying there and having the place to myself but that would be so very unfair! The Kings Arm is just brilliant.

Spent three nights at the Kings Arms after reading good reviews on Trip Advisor. We were not disappointed! Excellent hotel, in a lovely village and within walking distance of Montacute House. Good food, rooms were comfortable and quiet. Staff were very friendly. This hotel is a good base for visiting other National Trust properties too. I would definitely recommend this... More

We were at a wedding in the area and wanted to stay somewhere that was characterful and in a beautiful village. The area is stunning with many historical places to visit. The pub had a wonderful atmosphere with a nicely decorated dining room and bar. It was very cosy and relaxing. The rooms are about to be refurbished but they... More

We very much enjoyed our 2 night b & b stay , and dinner both nights. Our room was prettily furnished and decorated, and we had very comfortable nights in the 4 poster style bed. The standard of the food at dinner was excellent and well presented ; service was pleasant if slow. Montacute is a pretty , golden- stone... More

Stayed one night while visiting Yeovil (for football - yes, really). Our room (9) was clean and comfortable and of a good size, facing out over the rear. It was generally quiet at night, although as mentioned in a previous review, the church clock chimes throughout the night. Breakfast was excellent. All the staff we encountered were very friendly -... More

A great place to stay if you are visiting the area. Situated in a beautiful Somerset village right next to the village church and really handy for the main roads but far enough away to get peace and solitude. We arrived late on a Friday slightly frazzled and frustrated because of (the usual) terrible traffic around the Stonehenge area. The... More

Montacute is a quaint and well preserved hamstone village and this inn fits in completely. We had a very simple light lunch and it was great value the ploughman's with ham cheese pork pie freshly baked bread and homemade picallii was excellent The only drawback was the service which when we first arrived for coffee (we went somewhere in Montacute... Have eaten here twice recently with friends, first visit was lovely and service excellent. Second visit was a bit different... Friend was frowned at by owner for not parking correctly and then once my friend politely replied was scoffed at again by the owner in front of other diners! We were eating a full meal with two very young infants... More

Lovely couple, great staff, good room & generally all round exceeded our expectations. Food is very good, they really go the extra distance and the service was superb, nothing was too much trouble. They have been here 14 months and you can see how much effort they have made to make a success of it....... loads of little details were... More
