There are not many places where I have not stayed in this area since my work often brings me to this region - what a splendid surprise to find Derek & Katherine and their splendid staff at what has to be one of the most comfortable Inns within the vincinty of Yoevil. As well as a very warm welcome for... More

As a group of people who regularly lunch in Somerset pubs, we experienced the worst Sunday lunch here in Montacute. Having waited an HOUR for our booked table and lunch, the main course arrived on cold plates, the food was lukewarm, and cooled further whilst we waited for the vegetables to arrive. The portions were, in our considerable experience, meagre.... More

Thank you for your comments. We are sorry that you did not enjoy your Sunday lunch with us. It was an unusually quiet lunchtime and I am SURPRISED that you waited an hour for your table and lunch. Our Sunday roast, as is all of our food, is freshly prepared and cooked on the same day. I am pleased that... More

Such a warm welcome in this warm and cosy Inn where a whole group of complete strangers were able to spend a brilliant New Years party. Fun - and silly games - a must! Lovely food presented by genial staff. Great music for us all to "bop" to. Church bells ringing in the New Year and all linking arms and... More

Everything was promising from the moment we enterd his charming pub for Sunday lunch. Pleasant staff, nice restaurent good atmosphere. Lunch menue was good with interesting choices. Unfortunately the food did not match our expectations. My wife's food was warm and the beef was not any better than average. Same for my pork best described as bland. So main course... More

Stayed just one night at the King's Arms. Very comfortable but alas the shower head needed a good clean and there was mould on the tiles. Will stay again as room very stylish but will check bathroom first. Pleasant staff, good dinner with excellent steak.
