Arrived as part of a work party. The room was superb, had been refurbished to a high standard and we were looking forward to a good breakfast. Sadly this was not to be, toast (3 slices between 2?) was burnt, no choice of teas/coffees, old mushrooms, cheap sausages, deep fried hash browns, watered down orange juice, mouldy fruit in the... The Mildmay Arms is a large roomy pub, with 2 bars and a restaurant, very cosy and friendly pub I must say. I had the roast pork, this came with roast potatoes and 4 veg, very nice well served meal, the only thing missing was some crackling, the meal was hot and well cooked, with great service. Nice pub, shame... More

Five of us met up here having been let down by a previous location which did not do food on a Monday. It was a cold day but there was a welcoming fine in the hearth. Staff were very accommodating and efficient. We did not have to wait long for the food which was very tasty. 4 of the group had... More

Very pleased to find this charming establishment, the room was spotless and spacious ,our family joined us for a meal in the evening, which was excellent. We will certainly be staying here in our next visits to Queen Camel. Chris and Ann Clarke.

we drove from Kent on 30 December, foul weather all the way by chance happened to turn off the A303 looking to get something to eat. We received a lovely welcome both from locals and staff. Excellent lunch, only three starters and three mains on the special menu, always a good sign. everything was beautifully cooked. Cannot wait to go... More

Lucky find. A gem of a place with superb food and lovely friendly owners. Very nice accommodation, warm room, very comfy beds and en suite with good shower. Very good breakfast - I didn't need any lunch! I will definitely stay here again and would recommend it to all.

Popped in for a Boxing Day drink with family, including a four year old. We were told we couldn't sit in the bar (probably reasonable with a younger child), then told we couldn't sit in an empty tabled area either. No reason given. Told we could go in a noisy sports bar, where you couldn't hear to have a conversation.... More

Booked an overnight stay at the Mildmay Arms whilst we travelled en route to Devon. My husband was disappointed on our arrival as he thought it to be a busy pub. However, it was much, much nice than he had expected. Our room was comfortable and in a quiet location which enabled us to recharge our batteries. The food was... More

I can only comment on the accommodation and not on the pub itself. We stayed here for one night's bed and breakfast!! in late summer. The pub itself is set back a few yards from the main road through the village of Queen Camel. On our mid-afternoon arrival it was pouring with rain and, like the weather, the welcome was... More

Ian and Debbie, the owners were delightful. They made us welcome from the moment we arrived . All the staff were friendly as were the locals who invited us to join them for a game of skittles. The room was of a very high standard and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast was very good and our evening meal was delicious.... More
