I read the Trip advisor reviews for this pub today and as I was visiting the village later in the day, decided to leave early to include a visit here for lunch. Unfortunately, the pub was not just closed today, it has shut down completely! I just wanted to let others know by making this remark on site.

This was the single worst B&B or hotel that we have ever had the misfortune of staying at. What should have been a lovely overnight stay was an unmitigated nightmare. Below is a summary of some of the reasons why: 1. Overflowing sewage - the very first thing my feet hit when leaving our car in the B&B car park.... More

This is a warm, friendly pub that also provides bed and breakfast and is dog friendly. They provide a selection of tapas which is frankly divine. The first time we visited only three of us had the tapas expecting small portions, well we were well and truly surprised at both the portions and quality of food. We visited again two... More

We stayed overnight as we have friends who live in Queen Camel. This pub is a traditional village pub, with every thing that implies! (ie not modern and/or part of a big chain). The Mildmay Arms has just had a change of landlord and they are doing their best to bring this lovely pub up to date, so am looking... More

I arrived at Mildmay to be told the room I had booked was being renovated and so would have to have a room without ensuite. The room itself was very basic and unfortunately the carpet was dirty and there was peeling paint on the ceiling. The shared bathroom was rather grim and in dire need of modernising. The bedroom door... More

We went here for a light Sunday lunch after our original choice was fully booked and had a wonderful time. Both the waitress and chef were incredibly friendly and helpful, the food was tasty and the portions generous for the good value prices. The pub itself is in the beautiful village of Queen Camel and traditionally decorated, the restaurant section... More

Pre booked here for 12 people for lunch, an outing made monthly to different pubs in our area. 1st - No table laid up for 12, so pushed own tables together. 2nd - Wine returned as glass was filthy, ok sometimes that happens. 3rd - We had 2 vegetarians in the group but the menu showed no vegetarian meals, so... To keep it brief, we did not ever take a booking for 12 for this Saturday in question and we tried to accommodate you at short notice. You were offered stuffed Portabello mushrooms as well for a vegetarian option! However we stayed very courteous with you al,l unfortunately the same courtesy was not reciprocated!!!!! More

This is a gem of a village pub. We escaped from the A303 to enjoy the warm greeting, friendly service and wonderful but unpretentious food. My sandwich was incredible value, served with an enticing ramekin of salad. The wine by the glass was more than acceptable. We sensed that this really is a focus of the village with lots of... More
