Found this place online looking for somewhere to stay on business with colleagues for 2 nights and what a find! Dramatic entrance down a long tree lined drive, beautiful buildings, warm welcome, clean and gorgeous spacious rooms. Didn't stay for cooked breakfast due to early starts so can't comment on that but if the overall standard is anything to go... More

This is without doubt one of the best places i have stayed in for a long time. The accommodation is in an old farmers house and just oozes charm, it is immaculately clean and very comfortable and spacious. The accommodation is situated in the grounds of a superb stately home, where Lady Mary lives and indeed cooked our breakfast, which was... More

This was booked last minute instead of turning round and driving home The building is very old and steeped in history with doors and stairs everywhere The room was basic and clean breakfast was good We were confused by what we read in the room stating £12 for cooked breakfast so did not partake but did enjoy the cereals, toast and... We stayed in room 14 of the fat pigeon. We were greeted by friendly staff who showed us to our room. It was on the ground floor through the courtyard and ,had a nice "hobbit" style door. The room was a nice size with a very love en suite with shower cubicle. Breakfast was served by lady Mary herself, a... More

Sometimes you accidentally come upon something very special and finding the Fat Pigeon last week is a very good example! I needed a one night stay in the Yeovil area and after searching the usual sites, I booked my stay at the Fat Pigeon, where your hostess Lady Mary has created a unique and special small hotel. The setting is... More

I have just returned from my sixth visit to the Fat Pigeon B&B over the last year and a bit. If you like history and old buildings this place is for you. The farmhouse in which the B&B is attached to a lovely stately home with the most fantastic gardens. The rooms in the B&B are clean, the beds very... More

What an unusual place! If you appreciate old properties then you will really enjoy this gem. I must admit that it's a bit of work in progress on parts of the farmhouse, but the rooms are large and clean with comfortable beds. The views over the lake are great, and breakfast, cooked and served by Lady Mary and her daughter... More

This is far from your usual B&B, it's absolutely fantastic.Beautiful setting, very roomy, comfortable room with leaded windows looking out over the grounds and lake. Lady Mary and her daughter Sarah were the best of Hosts, nothing was too much trouble, and the breakfast was delicious. We are already looking to book another stay, and we can't recommend it highly... More

I wanted to stay somewhere quiet for the night prior to a funeral, it is very well placed for those with a car who need to go to the 'crem' in the morning. I had only seen a little information in advance but had noted the quite early checkout time of 10am. We had a problem initially locating the venue... More

The Fat Pigeon is situated in a large beautiful manor house set in stunning grounds and rolling countryside, the atmosphere was very laid back! the rooms were clean comfortable, we had a family room which was huge!! My only grumble would be that the bedroom furniture was not period so felt alittle out of place in the room.
