I have stayed at The Fat Pidgeon from monday to fridays for 4 weeks as I am working in nearby Yeovil. I haved had three different rooms and all the rooms have been spacious clean and comfortable. The views from the rooms are beautiful and the historic house has real character. We have been made to feel very welcome by... More

We stayed for a wedding. Its very confusing about what is part of the manor and the fat pigeon b&b is a separate entity. The fat pigeon breakfast is fantastic but you have to request cooked breakfast. Lady Mary is a wonderful and gracious hostess. But if you're staying as wedding guests the price appears to be double. Marketting and... More

Having booked at the last minute I really didn't expect much as everywhere else seemed to be full. When we arrived both my wife and I were very pleasantly surprised. We were blown away by the sheer grandeur of the house. My wife and I walked around the grounds and was such a relaxing time there. It is a photographers... More

Who would have thought that the B&B would actually be in the servants rooms of a tudor mansion? And you are free to wander through the beautiful gardens. This is a family home and not a hotel. We were greeted and chatted to Lady Herbert who served us breakfast and it is a real jewel to find. Rooms were clean... More

I had three very peaceful and comfortable nights in this beautiful building; my room was spacious, comfortable, well equipped and enjoyed superb views over the stunning gardens. I found 'The Fat Pigeon' easily with sat nav but beware of the speed bump on the long drive. I don't eat breakfasts but I understand there is an excellent continental on offer... More

We were looking only for a nice B&B and found a wonderful old manor house with our charming room. The rooms have been very carefully adapted to accommodations, which makes you wonder what the rooms and furniture must have been used for in the past (lots of chairs, for instance, must have been for use in the chapel as they... Found this place online looking for somewhere to stay on business with colleagues for 2 nights and what a find! Dramatic entrance down a long tree lined drive, beautiful buildings, warm welcome, clean and gorgeous spacious rooms. Didn't stay for cooked breakfast due to early starts so can't comment on that but if the overall standard is anything to go... More

This is without doubt one of the best places i have stayed in for a long time. The accommodation is in an old farmers house and just oozes charm, it is immaculately clean and very comfortable and spacious. The accommodation is situated in the grounds of a superb stately home, where Lady Mary lives and indeed cooked our breakfast, which was... More

This was booked last minute instead of turning round and driving home The building is very old and steeped in history with doors and stairs everywhere The room was basic and clean breakfast was good We were confused by what we read in the room stating £12 for cooked breakfast so did not partake but did enjoy the cereals, toast and...
