The Fat Pigeon is situated in a large beautiful manor house set in stunning grounds and rolling countryside, the atmosphere was very laid back! the rooms were clean comfortable, we had a family room which was huge!! My only grumble would be that the bedroom furniture was not period so felt alittle out of place in the room.

Thank you Lady Mary and everyone at The Fat Pigeon. The hospitality you offered was gracious, the rooms and facilities were perfectly in context for the beauty of the house and the whole experience was a pleasure! Two nights was just not enough. The Fat Pigeon was a little slice of paradise in a crazy world full of electronics, communication... More

I stayed just one night here and had a beautiful room on a floor up a hidden flight of stairs. The other rooms I saw were just as delightful as mine. The staff are welcoming and gracious, the breakfast was tasty, and I couldn't ask for anything more.

Stayed in room 12 last Thursday and had such a nice time I had to write a review. Bed fantastic, roll top bath better, view of the gardens from our room....... Even better! Lovely quirky place, we have already recommended it to some friends and will be booking ourselves in again soon. Hidden Gem.

On arrival I thought "oh no" but taking into consideration the price £40 per night including cooked breakfast, cooked personally to order by Lady Mary I changed my opinion. Sitting in the lounge talking with Lady Mary I realised what a fantastic character she is and what a charming B&B she runs. Room 11 is spacious with a double bedroom... More

This B&B is not finished both in terms of the physical property but also the skills of the staff. Here's why: 1. We were locked out of the building when we returned on the Saturday night at 11pm. There was no curfew and we were not told of the alternative entrance to the building. It took us 2 hours searching... More

We had booked for one night but decided to stay for two. Lady Mary gave us a warm welcome and sorted the extra night. The room was large and comfortable with a large bathroom with lovely roll top bath, the bed was exceptionally comfortable and because of the location very peaceful at night, followed by a beautifully cooked full english... We booked a room for 1 night off of Lastminute.com. The Fat Pigeon is located down a long drive and local amenities (Asda, Pub, Restaurants) are not really within walking distance but are a short drive away. We were upgraded to a room in the main house (#7) which overlooked the lake. It was up a spiral staircase and 3... More

We stayed here valentines night & thoroughly enjoyed the stay in this beautiful house. I was greeted on arrival by Lady Mary who told me the house had been in her family for 300 years, it was so informal & friendly felt more like her welcome guests arriving as apposed to a check in. The room was big & well... More
