So, if you like birding you will like this place, and when I say place I mean Madera canyon... Not the lodge. You don't really need to stay there to enjoy the birds. At 150 a night or 130 depending on what "casita" you get it's definitely not worth it. You can find better cabins in mount lemon for that... More

During a birding trip to Madera Canyon we stayed at the Santa Rita Lodge. Our one bedroom room was clean and large, containing a living area with fireplace, a kitchen and dining table. The bedroom came with its own door and porch to the back area, and an ample bathroom. The front porch was an excellent viewing area for the... More

We had a wonderful time here with the cabins right next to the bird feeding area! Got to meet some great birders! Great area for hiking, birding and enjoying nature. Rooms are CLEAN with everything you need!

I enjoy visiting Madera Canyon for the cooler temperatures, tall trees and nature. Santa Rita Lodge welcomes visitors to their gift shop and bird feeder viewing areas. There are snack items, sandwiches and beverages for sale along with bird books, binoculars, souvenirs, jewelry and Mata Ortiz pottery. Prices are very fair/good on all items. Staff is friendly and welcoming. There... More

I brought our photography group here to take pictures of the Hummingbirds. Little did we know there was so much other wildlife. The staff was great. I asked the owner if I could set up some feeders for the hummingbirds near my room. He said no problem and asked how many feeders I wanted. I did not want to disturb... More

This is a great location for birders. The staff is accommodating and friendly. The cabins need some updating, but the nights were comfortable and cool. There are more comfortable, less expensive places to stay in Green Valley. We stayed in both. For comfort and amenities, I recommend Green Valley. For convenience and birding, the lodge is quaintly suitable.

Looking forward to staying again. WIFI and TV available but wouldn't be too upset if signal is weak. It is ou tin the middle of nowhere!... More

Different types of rooms and cabins but all surrounded by wildlife. If you enjoy relaxing with wildlife, this is the place for you. Accommodations are not fancy but they are clean and comfortable. Slow internet and spotty cell phone service but a wonderful location. It is easiest to buy food in Green Valley to prevent having to drive back and... More

I spent two nights at the Santa Rita Lodge. The entire facility is focused on attracting birds. There are bird feeders outside every room along with a large feeding area open to the public. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. Since there are no dining facilities in Madera Canyon it is necessary to bring your own food supplies. Each... More

This is my third time visiting Madera Canyon and staying at Santa Rita Lodge as a tag along spouse while my husband photographs Hummingbirds. It's a lovely old rustic lodge with all the amenities you would need for a few days. The cabins/casitas are very comfortable and it's like being thrown back to the 1950's. Very clean and staff nice... More
