We were in this lovely establishment for four nights and enjoyed it. All what you need for your vacation in isabela: clean, A/C, hot water, good bed and good breakfast. Rooms are simple but no complain. It run by friendly couple that will help you in your needs. Highly recommend

We chose the hostal because it was less expensive. It was not one of the hostals, on the beach, but honestly the beach is 2 short blocks away, and we were not at the hostal long enough during the day or evening. Just a place to shower and sleep. It did have a great breakfast with scrambled eggs one morning... More

Very clean, spacious room. Air conditioning in good shape, lots of water and beautiful people to help you. If you are looking for an all inclusive, luxurious or an american style banner hotel this is not the place. People at the hotel is local people willing to help and without a fake smile. We had a problem with the post... More

Had a pleasant stay here recently. We actually ended up with a room in the Sea Lion Hostal which is a few hundred yards along from La Gran Tortuga but seems to be part of the same business. The room was clean with air-con and a very large bathroom, plus free water from the cooler in the hallway. Good location... More

My husband, 17 and 15 year old sons and I stayed at La Gran Tortuga for 4 nights last week. We were touring Isabela island. We were so impressed with the owner, Juana Valladares! Before our trip, she set up several tours for us and even answered our questions about what shoes to bring via e-mail! She was incredibly friendly... More

We stayed one week at the Gran Tortuga and enjoyed every minute of it. Our room on the second floor was perfect (king bed, mini fridge). It is impossible on Isabela not to bring in sand every time, but the staff keeps the room immaculate every day. The breakfast was typical and good. The owners were very accomodating, for example... The room was clean. The hosts were great. The breakfast were good and plentiful. The a/c worked well and so did the wifi. The only down side was the road construction going on outside of our room but not something that is the fault of the B and B. The location was great to walking to all of the downtown... More

Had a booking for three nights but had to move for my last night to the hotel next door - although did have to come back for breakfast. There were major roadworks going on outside the hotel and my room opened up onto this road however i was surprised at how quiet it was. The room was comfortable, with a... More

We stayed on Isabela in November for 10 nights at Hostal La Gran Tortuga. We originally booked 7 nights but ended up staying for 10. Juana our host couldn't do enough for us. She organised tours, told us the best places to eat and visit, Although she had very little English and my husband minimal Spanish we got along famously!... More

We really enjoyed this place! It was the most expensive place we stayed on the Galapagos but Isabela tends to be the most expensive island. The rooms are very nice and clean with all the amenities you could want (even a fridge), and a comfortable bed. WIFI was perfect. We enjoyed the rooftop patio with seating and hammocks (you can...
