We really enjoyed this place! It was the most expensive place we stayed on the Galapagos but Isabela tends to be the most expensive island. The rooms are very nice and clean with all the amenities you could want (even a fridge), and a comfortable bed. WIFI was perfect. We enjoyed the rooftop patio with seating and hammocks (you can... La Gran Tortuga has all you need: big room, perfect (boxspring) bed, nice shower, clean and friendly service. At a reasonable price ($70 a night, breakfast included). What do you need more? It's not exactly on the beach, but just a couple of minutes walk away. Good choice!

When we first arrived, I thought we might have made a mistake in booking here but four days later hated to leave. When we arrived the room was hot as the AC was off and we found that the mini fridge didn't work so no place to keep my wife's white wine cold. We advised the owners and within 5... More

We enjoyed our stay at La Gran Tortuga. The room was clean and the air conditioning worked well. Breakfast was plentiful and well made. Juana's husband gave us an excellent tour of the mangroves and the wall of tears. We really enjoyed his stories about how life has changed in the years they have lived on the island.

Simple to review! Juana is great, rooms are clean and well kept and ac is a nice break from a hot day. Tasty and ample breakfast to boot. Neither the least nor most expensive on the island, but a good value to be sure. Happy to recommend without hesitation.

Clean rooms with comfortable beds, efficient air conditioning and good breakfast. However thats the minimum I would expect from this bog standard B&B. There were no seats in the bedroom so you had to sit on the bed and the only outside seating was on two benches on the side of the dusty road. The price did not include taxes... More

The little hostel was comfortable, clean, quiet, and the Juanita and her staff are incredibly hospitable and accommodating. She handled all tour arrangements, pick ups and drop offs, and generally made things very easy. Breakfast is pretty good, albeit the same thing every day. They even packed us a lunch on our last day when we were taking the 6am... More

We booked this B & B (it's definitely not what I would call a hostel) based on the reviews on Trip Advisor, and we were not disappointed. It seemed amazing value for money but I think that Isabela is probably cheaper than Santa Cruz on the whole, so the price is probably fair compared to the other accommodation in Puerto... More

We stayed at the La Gran Tortuga for 5 days. The place is centrally located; at walking distance to restaurants and grocery store. Breakfast was good, the room was extremely clean and the staff are friendly. Even though it is listed as a hostel, there are private rooms with a double bed and private bathroom ( we had hot water... Our time on Isabella was definitely enhanced by Juana. Her hostal is comfortable, extremely clean, very conveniently located, and the best value we could imagine. We needed Juana to help us make some last minute arrangements, and she went out of her way to do that even though she also had many other guests. Juana is the best thing about... More
