When I first arrived I stayed in the traditional Thai hut, right on the beach. I loved it. The bathroom, while enclosed, is still open air and each morning I had a tiny green tree frog sitting on the closed toilet seat. If I nudged his little bottom long enough, he would grudgingly move :) The ocean is just steps... More

Was there in low season, not sure if the tide differs around the year but was at the brunt of the waves and wind so a bit noisy. The first night I stayed in a 250baht a night bungalow on my own. All I can say is go to bed before 10pm. When the electricity goes its so noisy with... More

My girlfriend, several friends and I stayed here during low season, we had the 500bht a night bungalow for my girlfriend and I. Although the nights were hot due to limited electricity during low season I still slept relatively well. The room was clean and the bathroom was beautiful with an opening for natural light above the shower. Staff were... More

Stayed here 2 years ago, returned just before they went to 'low season' at the end of April. Remains a good value with electricity 24/7 during high season (caution! During low season the power is not on all night - which means no fans). Villas large, comfortable, clean. Beach in front spectacular with excellent sunset views. About the only down... More

Reviews made us apprehensive, but we had an excellent experience! Great location in center of long beautiful beach, walking distance to markets. Staff was very friendly. Beach front bungalow (Original Bungalow #1), was basic, but in best location, and reasonably priced. As most bungalows in Thailand, not sealed off from outdoors, so yes, insects etc. can get in. Probably shouldn't... More

Came across this place as friends from home were staying here and with limited knowledge of KP it suited us well. We stayed in a villa junior for 7 nights for around £25pn. Decent size room with good fan, good bed and outdoor bathroom. Had an outside terrace with hammock also so no complaints on the room. Ate a few... More

Stayed here with my mother for four days during Christmas 2013 and the experience was exactly what we had hoped. We stayed in the shell hut which was small, quaint, but clean. We had issues with the power and couldn't use our inside light without the fuse blowing, however since we spent most of the day on the beach it... More

Already twice (in 2011 and 2013) I booked an “Original Bungalow” at Bamboo Bungalow. There was never any problem. I only observed the bad manners of the owner, but this didn’t bother me. Three months before my intended stay now in January/February 2013 I booked and paid for 19 nights again an “Original Bungalow” for 550 Baths/day. When I arrived,... More

Just can't seem to find a way to say anything good about the owner. Our experience was awful and the owner seemed more interested in making money than ensuring we had a pleasant holiday. And while chatting with other business people on the island, Bamboo has a bad reputation for overbooking and then sending customers to look for their own... More
