I don't know what stuff is doing there but all territory of a resort is full of old leaves, it's so spooky there and dark all around. And the price is too big for old , bad maintained bungalows. If you don't want to spoil your vacation - avoid this place !!

Bungalows range from quite basic to nicer looking ones. Each Bungalow comes with the obligatory hammock and a few sunbeds are provided on the beach. The location on Ao Yai beach is pretty good, although not my favorite on the island. Food is good, but a bit pricey. Wifi is sometimes ok, but only available in the restaurant area.

Be under no illusions, Bamboo bungalows is very VERY basic. Concrete floor, old matress and mosquito net. There is a loo but it is pretty much outside but he reason it is basic is because that is what it is trying to be. It is right on the beach, lots of places to eat, there are some tourists but I... It doesn't matter if it's a modest guesthouse or a 5* hotel: some places have "it". The moment you enter you can feel the good vibes, generated from the management (and carefully chosen staff) who genuinely care for the wellbeing of their guests. This place has definitely NOT that kind of vibe... It is very clear that the only motivation... More

Definitely a 2 star hotel (no AC, no hot water), but comfortable and with great access to a wonderful beach. Watch the sun sink into the sea each day. Leave your western ideas of service at home and you won't be disappointed. The outdoor shower is pleasantly lukewarm by the middle of the day. Try JJ's restaurant next door for... More

I stayed for eight days just prior to Chinese New Year, would have stayed longer but for some minor problems. As stated by other reviewers, this resort is located on a beautiful beach in a cashew tree forest. The bungalows vary from very basic backpacker style (the cheapest) to more luxurious units with windows and nicer furnishings. During my stay... More

We spent 11 days including new year in this nice place in the middle of the garden. We traveled all over the Koh Phayam but still considering that Bamboo is situated in the best place and we liked that bungalows were situated in the middle of the "forest", the restaurant was full of flowers, white beach was very clean and... I stood in the Bamboo Bungalows during peak season and was happy to find a Bungalow while everything else around was fully booked. If I wouldn't have booked 3 nights on the internet alteady, I would have left right away! The Bungalow (cheapest category) but not cheap at all with 700 baht was one of the worst I saw in... More

In my opinion this is one of the best placed to stay on Ko Payam. The bungalows are great, some are beachfront, the staff is vey nice, food is ok but the best is the atmosphere and the way the beachfront is decorated, especially at night. Great party's and biggest firework on the whole island on New Years eve. They... More

We want to spend the Christmas days at Koh Phayam and stayed in Bamboo Bungalows. As it was the end of four weeks travelling in Thailand, we had selected their most expensive option: the Villa Bungalow which really was a very nice and spacious bungalow. The attached open-air bathroom is funny. And yes, it's a tropical island so it's possible... More
