The homestead is an ideal spot to stay. Rooms are dated, but it all adds to the charm of the place . Nice and clean and great view from rooms 1 to 5 . Had a good atmosphere and peaceful setting . Food in restaurant was good and music in the bar after was nice and relaxing . It's not... More

We spend one night in the Glen Helen Resort and we were satisfied with what we met there. The staff is very friendly and the food is good. The title "resort" might be misleading, though. You have to keep in mind that it's located at the far end of the National Park and therefor it's different than you might expect.... More

you come across the Glen Helen resort (and campground). We chose the resort which is a little different from your typical resort...but it has a pool, and a gorge! Go the gorge, bit chilly and choose your spot so you can not only get in but get out, much discussion about entry point! Bring your own drinking water, although water... More

We live in Alice Springs and have been coming here for years. Yes, the accommodation is shabby, but the sheets are clean and the facilities adequate. Stay here for the stunning scenery, bird life, wildlife, beautiful gorge and a ceiling of stars. The restaurant is pleasant with a relatively good selection of wines. We sat out in our camping chairs... More

My young family (partner , 11yo, 8yo and 15month yo and myself) recently spent a couple fo nights at the Glen Helen Resort. The rooms were well kept. Clean linen, daily fresh water, a little mini fridge available. Apart from the gorgeous views of the cliffs as we ate dinner from the camp kitchen, was how hard working and accomodating... More

We camped here for three nights and it is a lovely spot. The campgrounds were grassy and clean and the scenery is hard to beat. The camp bathrooms ... well let's say they're a year or three past their use-by date. There's no competition in the area - other campsites offer fewer facilities - but Glen Helen has a lovely... Dear ssharwood thanks for taking the time to review Glen Helen We are glad you enjoyed the amazing scenery and the green lawns we work hard to keep with recycled water. Our bathrooms are not that old, but the small building is due for an internal renovation, since it was built in 2006. The newer large block was built in... More

Why would I give a very good rating to a motel, hardly modified since the 1970's? Sure the toilets are stained by the artesian water and the rooms are small and old fashioned and the wash basin is too small to use for anything than hand washing. However, along side these negatives are wonderful positives. Waking in the morning and... More

Dear oliverAustralia thanks for your thoughtful review. We are glad you appreciated the special things about Glen Helen. You would think the motel was built in the 70s but actually it was built in the late 80s! Sadly the builders were not thinking beyond a bit of local traffic at the time, and could easily have built much larger and... More

Dear Felicity C Thankyou very much for drawing attention to the fabulous Helicopter Flights that are available from Glen Helen! Glen Helen has been working with Alice Springs Helicopters for at least 10 years, offering excellent value flights for around 10 months of the year, excluding the quietest period. Unlike many locations offering Heli flights in the outback, you do... More

Had a good week using Glen Helen Homestead Lodge and its powered sites as a base for exploring the Western MacDonnell National Park and its gorges and walks. Great managers and staff at Glen Helen. No longer marketed as a resort so expectations were met

Dear Leanne H thanks for your review of your stay at Glen Helen It is becoming better known now what an amazingly scenic region the West MacDonnell National Park is, and it is the largest National Park in Central Australia. We are also within easy day access of the Finke Gorge National Park, containing the famous Palm Valley With all... More
