What can one say that is bad when one's hotel is right on the shoreline of beautiful Laguna Catemaco? My room was comfortable and a decent value. Granted, the furnishings were a bit Spartan and showing a little age, but the rooms and the grounds were clean and well maintained. Lunch in the dining area was a bit overpriced but... More

The exterior of the hotel might look a bit old, but in general its the best "family" hotel in town. It has all of the commodities you need without being luxurious. I took my 9 yr old, my 3 year old and my 3 month newborn and they loved it. We took the boat trip around the bird and monkey... More

After looking around the town, thank goodness we found this hidden gem! Excellent location, food excellent, dated hotel as they all are, but spacious rooms, excellent shower and quite possibly the worst bed I have ever stayed in. It would have been softer sleeping on a plank of wood. Still given the choices in town, would stay here again and... More

Hotel was indeed beautiful. A short 15 minute walk from the malecon, the hotel offers a great view and a small but nice jacuzzi. A few place where the hotel fell short: 1- they tried to charge us for making a local call to order food 2- they didnt seem to know of any travel agencies or how we could... More

Really enjoyed our 3 night stay here and would highly recommend stopping over. Superb lake views from our room, excellent food, friendly and efficient staff...one slight negative is the noise from the busy road and music from Catemaco at the weekend requires some earplugs to sleep.

Ok, so the hotel looks a bit ugly from the outside, and the rooms are rather sparsely furnished, but it is a great place to stay. Catemaco is certainly worth a day or two, with several interesting places that can be visited on boat trips ( can be organised at reasonable cost through the front desk). Very good welcome from... We liked: - clean rooms and hotel area - modern design - good swimming pool - nice and friendly staff - location of the hotel at the lake shore We did not like: - the breakfast: the food was OK but it took us an hour and a half to have it finally. We arrived at the restaurant 45 minutes... More

Have stayed here several times over the past 15 years...always pleased (favorite photo of me sitting in the outdoor jacuzzi, with an espresso or drink, watching the sunset). Comfortable rooms with view of lake. Yes, the non-biting bugs ("amoyos"?) are a nuisance outside your door during that season (wave a towel or something outside your door before going in...they're inactive... More

We recently enjoyed a 2 night stay at La Finca. The hotel is really the best place to stay when visiting Laka Catamaco because the town is not very interesting (does have a beautiful church) I found the people very easy to deal with for our reservations and upon check in. Funny how a small negative can impact one. In... More

See, the thing in Catemaco is that you are in a jungle. The little town of Catemaco (the malecon or kind of a boardwalk) is tiny, not very nice, and believe me La Finca is the best hotel you'll find there. The hotel is ok. Nice enough pool, beautiful view of the lake. the hotel is right on the lake,... More
