Lovely two night stay at the chateau. A great base to explore the area, as it's pretty much in the middle of everything (you will need your own car to explore). Breakfast on the outside terrace was lovely with ducks and swans to keep you company. Nothing really negative to say :) would recommend staying here

This recently renovated Chateau surrounded by a lovely moat with black and white swans set the stage for three great days of relaxation and exploring the countryside East of Bordeaux. The property cleanliness was immaculate, breakfast was excellent and the proprietor/owner was helpful and thoughtful about restaurants and picnic options. The home is set on its' own three or four... We recently stayed several nights with family and friends. This was a wonderful castle with large rooms, good beds and excellent bathrooms. The terrace was the perfect location for the breakfast that featured fresh, delicious crossant sand home made jams and eggs perfectly prepared. Carla is a great hostess and had excellent dinner recommendations. We would most definitely stay again!

Carla, who owns and manages this beautiful property, knows what she is doing. She immediately makes you feel at home while showing you around the beautiful chateau and grounds. The chateau has been lovingly and sympathetically restored and the bedrooms are extremely well appointed. Our bathroom, almost the same size as the bedroom, was stunning with a large walk in... A superb location, set in its own grounds this small moated castle is ran by Carla who is the most perfect hostess. From the moment you arrive everything is explained to you including her wish that you may the Chateau your home during your stay. This includes her showing you a large fridge and store room for guests to keep... More

We had a most fabulous stay for two nights in June 2015. We discovered it when another accommodation fell through, and we lucked into the last available room. This is a place we will revisit for the place alone, to spend more time there. Carla was amazingly warm and welcoming, and runs a truly first class show - minus any... More

An exceptionally pretty Chateau with a warm welcome. I went with my young family and felt at ease. Fantastic eye for detail. Great taste from the mother and daughter means the property is both classical and chic. Bathrooms equal to The Four Seasons. Heated swimming pool a god send. The best bit? The male proprietor, Monsieur Oliver, knows the funniest... More

After a 3-week roadtrip throughout the South of France, we arrived at the Chateau Lamothe du Prince Noir and had the PERFECT 4-day rest and visit. The Chateau is impressive, comfortable and very relaxing. Carla was a charming, excellent and accommodating host. We highly recommend the Chateau as the best getaway in the Bordeaux area!

We loved staying in this beautiful old world chateau which was long ago a hunting lodge for a prince. To think, the games-of-throne jousting that must have took place there. Carla, the owner operator, was terrific and provided awesome service, including amazing breakfasts. Homemade fig jam, delicious! The floor creaked but that was part of the charm. If you want...
