We have stayed at the Chateau Carbonneau for the last 3 years staying longer each time (8 days this year). It is a charming mixture of styles - the French bucolic and the New Zealand informal. Wilfrid has a professional knowledge of Bordeaux wines and makes excellent reds and whites of the Ste Foy Appellation Bordeaux Controle. Jacquie looks after... More

Jacqui and Wilfred, the engaging hosts at this wonderful chateau made our 2 day stay a special treat. The chateau, garden, pool and our room were beautiful. Jacqui not only provided our breakfasts but also a three course dinner full of flavour and served on the balcony. Wilfred's wine choices were a wonderful complement to the meal and dinner conversation.... More

We stayed at Chateau Carbonneau in late May 2014. It was exceptional. The setting amongst the vines and gardens is absolutely beautiful. The rooms are spacious and thoughtfully decorated, all with expansive views over the grounds. Even our bathroom was enormous. Breakfast - either in the dining room, or on the terrace (we enjoyed both) - is a delicious start... More

We stayed with Jacqui and Wilfred at their Chateau in May and had a lovely time. We were there to attend a wedding at Chateau Rigaud, which is nearby. Chateau Carbonneau has a lovely patio, garden room, pond, and pool. It's an active working winery and farm as there are cows on the property. Wilfred gave us a tour one... More

From the moment of our arrival we were greeted by this most hospitable family. Our room was very charming with French decor, crisp linens and large bathroom. Just outside is wine tasting (excellent) and homemade cakes. Beautiful vineyards tended by the family for years. Amazing flowers, quaint pool, lush landscape beyond words. We enjoyed coffee, tea and fresh pastries each... More

This is a friendly, family run, hotel situated in wonderful countryside - partly pasture for their cattle and partly vines for their own wines. We had a brief tour of the winery and tasted the very pleasant wines. Sadly, it doesn't seem practical to get the wines shipped to the UK. The rooms were large and the beds comfortable. There... The chateau is of the right size, neither too grand nor too small, and the side containing the chambres d’hôtes has all one wants: large, spotless, appealing rooms; a lounge with a fireplace and comfortable chairs and sofas, where, before the evening dinner (if that day you chose the table d’hôte), the hosts, Jacquie and Wilfrid, will offer you a... Stayed 2 nights at this gorgeous gorgeous Chateau with my wife and 3 daughters; food at dinner was superb! (thank you Jacquie); since dinner is not served every night, we decided the second night to enjoy a picnic dinner, a sort of Le Déjeuner sur l'herbe, set against the sprawling lawn and the beautiful fountain pool with the Chateau in... If you have ever wanted to live in a Chateau, this is your chance (at least temporarily). This place is the real deal. Proprietors Jacquie and Wilfrid Franc de Ferriere are great hosts, and make you feel right at home. Big bathrooms.
