We chose to eat here as we thought the pub was associated with The White Horse at Blakeney (excellent), but it obviously isn't any more. Stopped here for lunch as the pub in Blakeney was fully booked, our luck was in! We had a delicious lunch and we were given the nod to order before a large party arrived. Very good value and home cooked food which set us up nicely for our long walk. Definitely will be going back.

Was in area to do some bird spotting and stopped for lunch. The place reminds me of an old Railway Hotel of times past but having said that was very clean and welcoming. We left it very late to book our weekend away. Our usual hotel in North Walsham was fully booked and our daughter found this hotel from an internet search. Though the beach was icy the welcome was warm. Room 4, where we stayed, had views out over the marshes and was beautifully furnished. The food was wonderful and the service friendly. I simply cannot find fault and I would recommend The George to anybody looking for a scenic, romantic escape.
