The George produces Excellent food, service and a lovely atmosphere. This place has it all, Would really recommend it. Fresh local produce which is always a plus. A great choice of menu for fine dining and family pub lunch. A must try if in the area

This pub was not recommended by our B&B but our sons were hungry and it was close. Mistake. Pub looks newly Farrow and Balled. Garden across a very busy and congested road. We ate inside. Food menu misleading as some choices have a lower price that is not available in school holidays. Somewhat rubbing your nose in the fact you're... More

My husband and I stayed at The George on the weekend of 18/19 July, on a deal through Amazon. We looked at the reviews on tripadvisor before booking, and did think twice, as some of them were far from complimentary. We decided that as we knew the area quite well and had always wanted to stay at this hotel, we... More

We spent a couple of nights at the George after our wedding. We had a deal on Secret Escapes that included a deluxe room and dinner. Unfortunately, I came down with food poisoning immediately after dinner on our first night, and it seems probable that the food at the George was the culprit, as my GP said it was most... More

My partner and I stayed at the George between 6th and 10th July 2015. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly including giving us tips as to where to visit. The food was really good and was consistently good throughout the week. The breakfasts were lovely! We stayed in the Cley Suite for the first two nights. The weather was... More

On the 5th July approx.1.30 we were looking for Sunday lunch when we saw this establishment which looked ok. My wife, son, daughter in law and myself decided to try the food. WHAT A DISASTER, Two of the meals were supposed to be roast pork which the four of us looked at with trepidation, The posh fish fingers my son ordered... More

We popped into for a drink and dinner, we just wanted a light bite in the garden. We waited at the bar for a good 5 minutes without acknowledgement (there was no queue) and then were told that we couldn't order any food as we had not booked in the restaurant. The pub and restaurant were not busy. We had... More

Afraid I agree with the most recent review. Expensive bland pub lunch - cheese with little flavour the service ranged from bad tempered to helpful. It's a real shame because the location is great. I was here before pub got the Farrow and Ball treatment - but the service has not improved.

We stayed here over a year ago and the experience was horrible from start to finish. Staff that don't care or don't seem to care Food that's mediocre Rooms that aren't particularly clean or welcoming Lovely location for a hotel but it's location isn't done justice by it's staff and poor management. I wouldn't recommend staying - we did the... More

A pint plus a bitter shandy sets you back 7.50. Staff cannot manage even a grunt. Thoroughly unwelcoming, a done-up 'modern' bar without character. Food looked good from a distance but decided not to bother given the attitude. Went to the White Horse in Blakeney instead, 10 minutes further in the next village and a lot more enjoyable.
