There are so many excellent places for morning tea and coffee in North Norfolk, but this is not one of them. Called in for a tea and coffee. In terms of value for money, view, service, other items on offer, general ambience, this was not a good experience for North Norfolk. That is no comment on the food or the... More

A few days on the North Norfolk Coast in February is never going to be all about chasing the sun - but provides a wonderful way to blow away the cobwebs, with great walks and remarkable wildlife to take in. The George Hotel is a superb base to operate from, with wonderful treks to the Cley beaches and along the... More

Really nice welcoming and friendly staff. We enjoyed a relaxed family meal. The staff were very accomadating to my fussy children! We were even allowed to bring our dog in. Food was lovely and lots of it. Fantastic selection of beer. Well worth a visit in a lovely village.

The George in Cley was warm and welcoming. They allowed dogs and we were immediately offered a water bowl and complimentary dog biscuits. The fire was roaring and the place was lovely and warm. The service was excellent. With a smile and very attentive. The meals were large in size. I had a sandwich, homemade granary bread, homemade finger fingers... More

My boyfriend and I stayed at The George for a nights break and we're not disappointed. The staff were friendly and accommodating. It was a cold weekend but our room came equipt with an additional electrical heater which was a thoughtful touch. Bathroom was spacious and modern and the shower was very good. We were going to travel elsewhere for... More

We booked this through Secret Escapes for 3 nights B&B and dinner, and were not disappointed. The hotel/pub is very much a working, local pub and has a great atmosphere. Our room was cosy, the bed comfortable and the shower good. What really made it special was the friendly and helpful staff - nothing was too much trouble for them,... More

We stayed for 2 nights including the New Year's Eve 'celebrations'. Starting with the good points: the room was basic but pleasant,well-sized and with a good view over the marshes; some staff were helpful; food was generally good; location for walking/birdwatching was excellent. However, these positive aspects were let down in a number of important areas. The level of service... More

Delightful situation overlooking estuary in pretty village of Cley. This pub is a hotel as well and the prices reflect this. A pint, a coffee, a lime and soda and a tonic water (oh, and bag of crisps for £1!) cost over £11. We queried the bill and were told the coffee machine had just been repaired to a cost... More

We booked a two night stay via a discount website and paid what we thought was a reasonable price for our stay (the rack rate was almost double). Reception was friendly and staff were very helpful throughout our stay, food was good and reasonably priced and the room was very comfortable, although ours was the only one not on the... More

Stayed for a long weekend in December, and couldn't have been better. Really friendly staff, nothing is too much trouble. Very dog friendly hotel, upgraded to a suite which had wonderful marsh views from the lounge and the bedroom. Food is fantastic - they have found a good team of chefs and the menu has a good choice of top... More
