Called in on a Tuesday lunchtime - very busy from 1.00pm onwards. Had a very good ploughmans lunch. Comfortable and clean surroundings and pleasant service. Didn't see any of the hotel rooms, so cannot comment on that.

Staying at the windmill decided to try the alternative dining venue in Cley. A delightful dinner from the specials menu except for Tempura prawns from normal menu, which had batter so light it almost melted. Duck breast cooked to the English palette & the most friendly & attentive staff. Well done.

Staying at Cley windmill we walked past this pub/hotel many times and one afternoon had drinks in the beer garden. Friendly staff and great choice of ales. Would recommend. Although we didn't eat here the food did look great too.

We stayed for 2 nights over the August bank holiday weekend. The owner and all the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was a good size, with a comfy bed and modern bathroom. Excellent location to visit Holkham, Wells-next-the-Sea, Blakeney and the surrounding area. Dinner in the hotel restaurant was top quality. On site parking was a big... More

Excellent crab in a brown bread sandwich served with a smile and with hardly a wait at all. Beer at just the right temperature slipped down a treat. Pleasant seating area the other side of the road. Very pretty and charming barmaid. What more do you need to keep an old man happy?

We stayed at The George for the BH weekend. Excellent location in a lovely part of Norfolk. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm and friendly. Our rooms were spacious, clean and well equipped. The restaurant food was excellent. Couldn't fault it. Would definitely return.

We stopped off at The George for lunch whilst cycling on the North Norfolk Coastal Path. The garden was lovely and sunny and local people drinking at the tables were friendly and helpful. We just had sandwiches but they were lovely and well presented. Would love to go back for an evening meal some day.

The room we were originally given was smelly and tired. The settee was dirty and we felt unable to even sit on it. The ensuite was in full view of the road and you could be seen sitting on the loo because there was no curtain or blind at the window! The staff were helpful and arranged another room for... More

Hi Thank you for your comments which I will happily respond too. When you checked in at the hotel, the manager decided as a gesture of goodwill to upgrade your room. Sadly the room that he upgraded you too was undergoing a renovation (hence no blinds in the bathroom etc.) and he was not aware of this fact, clearly this... More

We ate here on two separate occasions during our holiday. We met the new owner. I cannot comment on the hotel side, just the bar and restaurant. We sat outside for a few drinks. It was very pleasant. The only drawback being the road you have to cross to get to the garden. For the first meal I had tempura... More

Hi Jenny I was so pleased that you enjoyed dining with us at the George and that you are enjoying the refurbished bar and restaurant. I can see that you are a regular here and we are very grateful when our regular clients spend time to tell us what we are doing well and of course not so well. We... More
