The barman (owner?) could not have been more difficult and rude; you would though he'd appreciate our custom because the place was quite empty. We had average fish fingers and sea-bass, and ended up throwing up with food poisoning! Not the best way to spend your Saturday night on a weekend trip. We were 2 boys, so maybe it was... More

Usually I thank guests for their comments and use this site to improve what we do but what you have shown is how easy Trip Advisor is to misuse. This is your one and only review and I am pretty sure that I know who you are, a worried competitor who instead of concentrating on giving your customers what they... More

Having driven past the George earlier in the week I was intrigued by the Teapots being used in the beer garden. I decided to return based wholly on the teapots. I was not Dissapointed. This Hotel/resturant/bar is a little Gem. The decor is lovely, very in keeping with the style of the resturant and the staff super friendly and efficient... More

Thank you so much for coming to the George and taking the time to write about your experience. I am glad that you like the teapots they are handmade in Suffolk and they supply teapots to many companies including Harrods! Glad that you enjoyed your food we have new chefs, who produce specials that change daily (using whatever is seasonal),... More

We visited the George on a couple of occasions over our wedding weekend at the nearby Cley Windmill. There is a good selection of hand pulled quality real ales on the bar and those members of our party who dined there spoke highly of the food. We'll certainly be calling again.

The George is excellently located for enjoying North Norfolk. Good food and pleasant, comfortable surroundings make the George a great weekend getaway.Parking IS an issue but local parking facilities are available and the very approachable staff will point you in the right direction.

Excellent and friendly service - all lovely in the room and thrilled we could bring our dog to stay with us and allowed in the bars. A nice athmospere and excellent steak off the evening menu. Only point we would say is that in our room no. 5 you wouldnt want to be taller than 6 foot as we found... More

Enjoyed our stay at The George very much. Would recommend it. The food was first class. Great service and right next to the sea for lovely day trips. We needed a break and we feel much better for it. Thanks a lot. Tom and Jackie Egan.

We are just back from a one night stay at The Geirge booked through Secret Escapes. What a find. Great customer service , sweet room with wonderful vista over the marshes and food to die for. It's also a little quirky which we loved. Go , you won't be disappointed

I stopped one night on a bird watching trip. The reception chap showed no interest in who I was or why I was there (perhaps he is tired of grey-haired old men birdwatchers). No offer to help with bags. My room was up two floors. It was clean and the bed was comfortable, but it was a pokey small room.... More

We stayed at the George on a special offer from Secret Escapes. As such is was good value. We stayed in Room 7, which was on the second floor and small but adequate for 1 night. The good thing was that it had two arm chairs. The 'shower' was over the bath. To say it was a shower is really... More

There are so many excellent places for morning tea and coffee in North Norfolk, but this is not one of them. Called in for a tea and coffee. In terms of value for money, view, service, other items on offer, general ambience, this was not a good experience for North Norfolk. That is no comment on the food or the... More
