This is a fantastic place to stay, virtually on Cley marshes.Bedroom 1 has a superb view to the iconic mill. The accommodation is clean, with all facilities, and the breakfast offers an excellent choice. Reasonably priced. We shall return!

We stayed at Cookes for a couple of nights and it offered good value for money. The location in Cley is excellent and our room had views of the famous Windmill. The rooms (our family had three of them) were comfortable and reasonably well equipped and the breakfasts were really good. I particularly liked the outdoor picnic tables and Peter,... More

Only popped in for lunch - we did not stay. Great little snack/tea room in a typical old Norfolk style cottage with Garden (for when it is warmer!). Lots of local produce and home made food all served by a friendly team of staff. Licensed serving local brews.

Stopped with work colleagues twice now. Loved the staff and the cooked breakfast. Smiles and helping hands made this another great stop over in cley. Will most likely stop again if in the area again. Thanks.

A friend and I recently stayed in a twin room at Cookes' as part of a walking holiday. The chap on reception was very friendly and welcoming, and the room itself was very characterful - lots of lovely period features including a Victorian fireplace and exposed beams. There was no central heating, but an electric heater was provided which was... More

Me and my partner stayed here last weekend, sadly for only 1 night, wish it had been longer. Lovely place to stay, our bedroom overlooked the windmill. Rooms are very nice, tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean. Owners very friendly and such a lovely breakfast in the morning. Would definetly stay again, hopefully for longer next time.

On a recent week long trip to North Norfolk we stopped for a morning coffee and wish we hadn't! The service in the cafe was the most unfriendly I have ever encountered (and we travel a lot). The man serving made us feel we were inconveniencing him by our unreasonable request for coffee/tea and cake. Our little boy (aged 20... More

Friendly welcome, tasty breakfast and great location in Cley. The scrambled eggs are some of the best we've ever had. The family room has its own bathroom across the corridor which we were ok with. We stayed somewhere else for the night near by at almost twice the price and wished we could have stayed on here.

This is in a great location and although dated (it is an old building after all!) the rooms and especially the bed were very comfortable. You get plenty of breakfast with a good choice available, although I couldn't eat the full breakfast the second morning after a wonderful meal at the Anchor in Morston, the night before.

E-mailed an enquiry for a Sun/Mon two night stay - they replied saying they had a vacancy - we e-mailed back and 'phoned, leaving a message to ask them to call us and/or we would call next day to transact the deposit - leaving our contact number. No further contact from them. Phoned next day to organise the deposit and... More
