This is in a lovely area if one is seeking a quiet vacation. It was far from the main towns and we spent a fair bit on taxis. There was no other means of transport, except to rent a car for the duration. The room was spacious and clean, but basic. There was a small kitchen area with a fridge... More

Very good location. This probably was a hot property 20 years ago, but needs updating/refurbishing now. The grounds are nicely kept. When we booked, the deal we chose included breakfast (Euro plan) but we never found where it was supposed to be served, nor did the staff know about it. Not all rooms are equal. Our traveling companions had a... More

***Excellent choice if you want to stay in the less crowded area. Great location , beautiful view, big rooms, nice pool with the view of the ocean, walking distance to a small supermarket.Short drive to the beach. Booking was very easy with the most friendly staff. A big "Thank you" to the manager and his staff who made our stay very... More

Recently booked two rooms, one for my son and girlfriend, the other for us. Location is close to Orient Beach, room was large, clean with a nice ocean view, small kitchen and OK A/C. Staff was also nice but there were some things to complain about. The conection of the phone to the wall was broken and working intermittently so... More

My son was on the oceanside and I stayed on the marina side. His room was more modern, very spacious and had hot water. My room was older, very spacious with hardly any hot water. The place is older and certainly not the Ritz but the place was clean, no bugs and I had fresh towels every day. We ate... More

This "hotel" was abominably bad and I am currently in process with Expedia for a full refund. We thought it would be an OK place to stay for one night before hopping on the ferry to neighboring St. Barth's (the ferry is next door to Oliver's). That's the only remotely positive feature of this property. After the experience we had,... More

Dear Sir, Thank you for taking the time to review our property. We take our guests' opinion very seriously but we have some trouble doing so for yours. We enjoyed the sarcasm but we have to disagree with the numerous exagerations and blatant lies whose only purpose is getting a free stay. For the record, our staff offered you to... More

Me and my girlfriend spent 4 nights in this hotel and we were satisfied. The reception is very helpful and always ready to answer your questions. The room has a great view, is big with a lot of space, air conditioning is well working, cleaniliness was satisfying as well. The location is a bit far from the main cities but... More

From the Ocean side rooms, quiet pool, evening dining and bars no one ever has to leave Captain Oliver's. Hopefully the new owner will keep updating a great place and stop relying on the past. It is a truly GREAT value and as long as a three-star room is all you want this place is the best on St Martin.

There are places that care about their customer's experience and there are others that seem to only care about the dollar. In our case, we believe Captain Oliver's is more interested in the latter. For more detail... We made a booking by accident on Travelocity and called them two days later as soon as we realized the mistake. We told... More

Dear Sam W, We are sorry you had so much rage to pour on Tripadvisor and we hope you were able to vent on an honest business who is only trying to accommodate its guest to the best of its capacity. Every business around the world cares about both, the revenue and the customer experience which by the way, brings... More

We read some of the reviews and went to this hotel with some mixed feelings. We were greeted with a genuine smile, the girl explained everything about bars and restaurants around(not that many) but the real surprise came when i saw the room-very spacious with a great view towards Saint Barths and a nice balcony. I believe it was recently... More
