The hotel is well located for downtown and the V&A with some local bars restaurants and cafes can be enjoyed. The house I stayed in had about 8 rooms and whilst mine was fine it's a shame there wasn't some kind of honour bar etc as the house was nice but there was nothing in it. Particularly annoying when you... More

I loved staying at De Waterkant House. It is ideally situated near a variety of restaurants, nightclubs, and a shopping centre, and within walking distance from the VA Waterfront. I stayed in a traveler's room, which is perfect for a single traveler who merely wants a clean, comfortable place to stay. Loved the pool, the furniture, and the comfortable bed,... More

We only stayed at this place for 3 days but we enjoyed every bit of it. Its a really nice B&B. The rooms are large, clean, and cozy. You easily feel like home. The staff was also helpful and nice. I would definitely recommend it. The only downside is that there is no wifi in the rooms. The wifi was... More

Thank you so much for your review. It is always a great pleasure to see that we can provide an enjoyable service. The internet is one of the things we are working on to help make our guests' stay more comfortable. Only select rooms come with air conditioning. The alternative is to use mist fans that we provide in the... More

I think if you have stayed ones at De Waterkant aria you will realise that it's the best locations to stay in. This is my second stay in this area but my first time at De Waterkant House. And they will see me back soon. Very nice accommodation and food. Just wish they want to invest in air conditioning. Thanks... More

De Waterkant House Great B&B in the Waterkant Area in Cape Town. Nice House. Great Rooms. Very clean Bathrooms. Super Service. Staff very helpful and kind. Housekeeping professional. The B&B offers a kitchen for those who wants to cook by themselves. But so many good restaurants around that you don't need it. Small pool with chairs. The area is very... More

We have been using the little home for years. Each year it seems to fall more and more into disrepair. The check in staff are bored and unfriendly and having to collect your soap at the front desk makes me chuckle. Old showers, toilet holders falling off the wall and the room never got replenished. Had to go hunting for... More

A lovely area just outside the Cape Town CBD. Staying here also afforded me breakfast vouchers at a lovely cafe just down the road on the corner of waterkant and napier that had the best French toast I've ever had.

de Waterkant House, and its sister property, The Charles, are both excellently located in the de Waterkant Village area of Cape Town. It is nearby some excellent restaurants, all within walking distance. It is a historic part of Cape Town and the architecture is something to enjoy. From here you can also walk to the CBD and the Bo Kaap... More

After dealing with a not so friendly man on reception we decided it was a once off. Eventually after we got allowed into our room after 2pm, ( even although not full) we had all sorts of annoying issues. No dustbin, no coat hangers, flat remotes and enough tea for two days ( even although we stayed four) The online... More

The area the hotel is situated is really nice! Very central and close to the waterfront and it's a nice view of the harbour from the pool outside.. But the pool is regularly used by the neighbours as well, a lot of them just jump the fence easily.. The room we stayed in was terribly hot without A/C, we killed... More

Dear Reviewer, We do try and keep our website very specific as to what De Waterkant House has to offer and at no stage do we intend to create the expectation that De Waterkant House is a modern guesthouse. De Waterkant is a heritage area and although we plan on some maintenance work for this winter, the character of the... More
