We loved that Manana is a boat ride away from all civilization! The villas are comfortable and clean, and there's nothing more relaxing than hanging out on a hammock steps away from the sand. The water is a lovely green but has a healthy dose of jelly fish in it, and no waves to speak of. The beach is relatively... More

When i read about Manana there was no doubt in my mind that i needed to go there. The description on their website and images i found on google, arriving at the bay is no disappointing sight either. Very luckily we were picked up by the Manana taxi at the airport and driven straight to the bay, the experience of... More

I stayed here from 23rd to 25th October 2014. I have been here before in 2010 therefore it was a pleasure to visit the gorgeous place and meet up again with Awie the guy in charge and also Tommy, the resident dog who is the pup of the previous dog (also named Tommy) who is now sadly dead. Was glad... More

The title of this review is a great summary of what Manana is. We had the villa with the two of us. Its a nice spacious room that looks cozy. Behind the room u have the outdoor jungle bathroom, which is awesome! Tropical plants to check while you are using the toilet! 2 hammocks on the porch made the picture... More

We can't wait to give manana another try. We had a great stay there, even though it rained the entire day and night. :( The boat ride was definitely a little scary (ESP for our friend's 9 month old baby!) but the driver seemed to know exactly what he was doing. We wore our backpacks so they wouldn't get wet.... More

If you can live without wifi (which apparently I can't) then this place is for you...it is idyllic. Beach shacks right on the sand, hammocks, clear warm waters the place is almost heaven. For those like me...the electricity only runs overnight, the bathroom is a lean to attached to the back of your shack, there is no wifi, he food... More

Fantastic! Escape the trappings of modern life to enjoy basic local style chalets or dorm on a secluded beautiful beach. Unfortunately these 'trappings' include wifi, phone signal, a shower with water pressure, and a customer services desk. However, the guys there are lovely and as long as you have researched properly and understand the philosophy behind the place (think minimal... More

My husband and I travelled to Manana in July of this year as part of our honeymoon through Borneo. We LOVED it. :-) So the thing about Manana is its a little bit tough to get there, it is about 90 odd kilometres from Kota Kinabalu, so you have a one and half hour car ride and then a ten... More

The place is set in a wonderful location – it is on a deserted white beach (note: when we were there were loads of sand flies that bit us quite heavily) that meets crystal clear blue water with dark lush green jungle as the backdrop. Manana also offer a lot of different activities so you probably will not be bored.... More
