We had a quiet well-appointed room with a pleasant outlook. We arrived rather late, very tired after a long drive. The meal was good if expensive, but the service was extremely slow and formal, the dining room rather lacking in atmosphere. When we asked them to speed it up, this was met with rudeness from the waiter and disdain from... More

This is the second time we have stayed at the Auberge du Lac. It is very conveniently sited (near the A5 & A26) as a stopping point on the way back from Switzerland or the south of France. On both occasions we have stayed, the evening meal has been excellent and has been a good experience of French cuisine for... More

Arriving after a smashing but tiring week I was looking forward to a long cold beer This is a Logi s. It should be warm and welcoming. It wasn't. Rather,it is a sterile, baron, desert of an hotel. A tribute to the idiotic designers who prefer form over function. If you offer a Logis - the welcome is supposed to... More

This is my third visit to Auberge du Lac - I had very fond memories as a child and my return visits have not disappointed. The rooms are fairly small and basic, but have everything that you need. The position is excellent - making it a good stop when travelling to or from Calais. The food is excellent, although my... More

A well presented 3 chimney Logis clean but sad decoration staff lacked certain skills required when dealing with members of the public. Cheap accomodation but overpriced restaurant for the area and hotel type. A short walk across the road running through the delightful village to another hotel where we enjoyed a reasonably priced and delicious meal highly recommended all in... More

We stayed for one night, the room was clean and comfortable and also very quiet considering we at street level and alongside the road. At 77 euros we think it was good value for money, we had our dog with us and there was no extra charge for him. We decided to eat here too but we made the mistake... More

We stopped over with friends on our way home. Rooms in the annex were spacious, as were the bathrooms, but the decor was looking a tad tired but the bed was comfortable and we slept well. We could not open the windows because our room overlooked the staff smoking area. The food in the restaurant was, in my opinion, quite... More

Requested a ground floor room, but due to the road noise it wasn't possible to sleep with windows open, air con was terribly noisy and disturbed sleep all night with it's on/off pattern. The room was dated, cramped, and ridiculously dark. had to open the door to the common hall in order to see to set the A/C thermostat! Although... More

Great place for a stopover. We were traveling south to the Alps. Rooms were small and need a bit of modernization. Location lovely though and lac D'Orient is great for family's. lovely swimming in the lake and lots of water sports. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was amazing. Would definitely recommend eating in the restaurant. Beautiful food... More

We arrived after the run down from Calais using sat nav it brought us right to the door. The Auberge is very impressive and first impressions were good. These were reinforced when we entered the hotel. It is a far cry from most hotel having once been a wine press building now lovingly converted. There are very old beams in... More
