The name "Retreat" is very much appropriate!, that's the word that drew us into researching and finally booking this stay at Stefanos and Roula's villas. We were made most welcome by Katarina and the Stefanos came to see us and explained the area, where to go and eat etc and where to explore, nothing was too much bother. When we... More

We had a wonderful two weeks at St George's Villa Retreat. It's been said many times before, but Stefanos and Roula really are amazing hosts. We arrived at 11pm and were welcomed with open arms. The fridge was stocked with a bottle of wine, beer, homemade dolmades, cake, cheese, ham, bread, eggs etc. And some lovely touches like a bottle... More

Stefanos, Roula, I have been meaning to write this review for quite some time as my husband, 1 year old daughter and father-in-law spent a week at St George's last summer. If you are looking for a relaxing vacation, a private little house with breathtaking views, privacy and the kind of scenery you can't get enough of when you open... More

This was more than a villa rental – it was a Cretan experience. The historical location is just outside of a small village and half way up a mountain in a mix of farming and residential properties. Quiet location, stunning sea and mountain views from each patio. Our villa was super clean and well equipped with modern conveniences including a... More

We can't recommend St George's Retreat highly enough, nor its owners Stefanos and Roula. Wonderful place and wonderful people!! Unfortunately we missed our flight from Marrakech to Crete, but based on the good reviews of the retreat and determination, arrived on the third day of our 7 nights stay. We are glad we made the effort. Our villa (Euterpe) was... More

We stayed at St George's Retreat in August 2012, and had a wonderful week. Stefanos and Roula must be the most welcoming hosts. We arrived to find they had stocked the fridge with cheese, ham, butter, milk, juice and fruit (including a bowl of their delicious homegrown figs) as well as homemade raki, homemade olive oil, coffee, herbal tea, etc.... When my husband and I rented one of Stefanos' villas for a year we didn't know what to expect. To our delight we were welcomed with open arms and experienced living life the Cretan way. The retreat was a glorious place to spend our summer months by the pool and our autumn months hiking through the olive tree groves and... More

We had a wonderful fortnight at St Georges Retreat. Peace perfect peace! Stefanos and Roula make you feel very welcome. The villas are immaculate and every detail has been well thought out. On arrival you will find a well stocked fridge, wine, coffee and Stefanos's Raki to settle you in. Stefanos gave us lots of interesting ideas of places to... More

From the late night wait at the entrance by Roula when we arrived, to the late night taking us to the hospital in Verma by Stefanos when our 3-year old son needed attention, all aspects of our stay at St Georges Retreat was amazing! Our hosts, Stefanos and Roula, we really wonderful. When we arrived, they had the basic needs... More

We stayed at St Georges Retreat for a last minute weeks holiday in September after a very stressful few months in London. It was absolute heaven, the photo's on their website are stunning and still don't do it justice. Stephanos and Roula go out of their way to make you feel welcome while giving you lots of space, every little... More
