We visited St Georges last September (apologies for the late review!) and it was without doubt, the best holiday we've ever had. From the moment we arrived, all our stresses and worries of work etc just disappeared as there is really no option but to relax here! The villas are set high up off the beaten track (you will most... Stayed 12 nights in April 2015 in Villa Thalia at this spectacular location. Everything starting to bloom on Crete, no crowds yet, sheep and goats and birds are all you can hear. The views are absolutely amazing. Roula is a superb hostess who treated us to seriously good homemade baked goods and moussaka throughout our stay. The fridge in the... More

wonderful holiday experience at St. George's retreat. Villa was beautiful, ample size and had all the amenities needed and more. Roula and Stefanos were exemplary hosts, who were both friendly helpful and generous, often provided with delicious homemade treats. The surrounding area was perfect, picking fruit off the trees whenever we needed and relaxing by the pool, which although small,... More

We spent a wonderful 2 weeks at St George's Retreat with our 2 children, and found it to be perfect in every way. The photos don't really do it justice as the flowering plants and fruit trees are now well established, and the quality of accommodation and furnishings are very good. There are lots of beaches & taverna's within either... More

Stefano's and Roula's villas are amazing! They welcomed us like we were family. The Villa Urania was perfect for the 5 of us. They had supplied us with all the basics for our first day or two - coffee, wine, beer, bread, milk, etc. Roula had even baked us a delicious chocolate cake! Our first evening they came by with... We spend two wonderful weeks here....The first thing that captures your senses are the panorama views of the entire Souda Bay, the retreat is a village of 9 villas surrounded by fruit trees and flower gardens..Wow!!! The villas are perfect size for a small family, with many commodities. Pools, grills, full Kitchen,etc... The Almyrida sandy beach is a short distance... More

These villas are just perfect. The fruit trees and herbs surrounding the villas make for an inspiring environment to cook your own food. The villas are clean and just perfect size with everything you need for a family. The trip is coming to an end and I wish I could come every year to this very special place. I recommend... More

This little village of 9 independent units (houses) offers the most magnificent backbone to a honeymoon, a family vacation or a get-together vacation for friends. The experience from the very beginning was more than excellent - making the reservation and deposit payment was easy, when I requested a few preparations as this was our honeymoon, the reply was simply "consider... The name "Retreat" is very much appropriate!, that's the word that drew us into researching and finally booking this stay at Stefanos and Roula's villas. We were made most welcome by Katarina and the Stefanos came to see us and explained the area, where to go and eat etc and where to explore, nothing was too much bother. When we... More

We had a wonderful two weeks at St George's Villa Retreat. It's been said many times before, but Stefanos and Roula really are amazing hosts. We arrived at 11pm and were welcomed with open arms. The fridge was stocked with a bottle of wine, beer, homemade dolmades, cake, cheese, ham, bread, eggs etc. And some lovely touches like a bottle... More
