We couldn't have asked for a more charming, romantic, and comfortable place to stay while exploring the Burgundy region. The countryside setting makes the Chateau such a unique experience from the city hotels where we usually stay. It also makes for a perfect location from which to explore the surrounding villages that Johan suggested for our daily excursions. So a... More

I absolutely loved it! The chateau has been beautifully restored. The owners have managed to accentuate its charm and beauty and their great eye for detail shows throughout the estate. They are obviously in love with the place and with what they do. The rooms were spacious and beautifully furnished with the most exquisite Designer pieces and artwork. The restaurant... More

Horrible experience. Rooms look very sombre and cold. Not renovated. Shower is small and uncomfortable. There is not hitting in the rooms and they switch it off completely at night. Swimming pool is closed and restaurant that mentioned on the website doesn't exist. (You are lucky to be able to find a place to eat as it takes 20 min... More

This review was posted in a slightly different version some time ago already but taken off by Tripadvisor as it had "seriously discriminating elements". I am not going to spend too much time responding to this review as it brings back some bad memories. What says it all is that these two female guests left without paying the bill and... More

Chateau de la Resle was a perfect getaway. The Owners have renovated a stunning French Chateau in the center of Burgundy. We felt as if we owned the Chateau! With the owners on staff plus a fabulous on staff chef it all made us feel as if the Chateau was our. The rooms were all very different and all lovely... More

Really enjoyed our visit, fantastic hospitality from Pieter and Sylvia, Chateau is beautiful, decor great, rooms excellent. Pieter was the perfect host, with excellent restaurant suggestions and local tips. We really enjoyed sharing Pieters home and chatting about many things (apologies for raising Tony Abbotts budgie smugglers...)

We have just returned to reality after spending 4 days and 3 nights in this wonderful space where appreciation for the sens of space, creativity, art and well curated antiques create the backstage for the wonderful welcome as soon as you pull in to the property. Within minutes we were greeted by Sylvie and Nathalie, the cats and a friendly... More

We stayed for 4 nights in August and loved every minute of it! The owners/hosts Johan and Pieter, who are Dutch and speak fluent English, are like good friends who always know where to go. Their sense of place and eye for design is top-shelf as they have impeccably remodeled the 16th century Chateau in a warm and modern way.... More

Dear Leslie and Jeff. I really appreciate your feed back and I think we will never get used to reading such nice words about the Château and the experience we are trying to offer to our guests. It is also an opportunity to thank everybody who has posted something on Tripadvisor this year. 2014 was our first year with the... More

We stayed here for three nights in August and enjoyed every minute of it. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable, and you could tell that every detail was carefully thought out. The owners Johan and Peter, who are Dutch, speak fluent English as well as French (and presumably Dutch) and they are the perfect hosts. They live on the property... More

Ideally situated if driving from Calais to or from the South of France. A gem of a chateau tastefully restored with both modern and traditional charm. A must visit for lovers of style and elegance. The two owners are perfect hosts and the leisure areas from the relaxing sitting-rooms to the beautiful, spacious area surrounding the swimming pool offer all... More

We found this place by accident. On driving up the single track lane with the imposing 16th century chateau appearing in front of you, you just know that there is something special in store. The hosts for our stay, Johan & Peter are fantastic hosts and perfect gentlemen. The fact that they choose to open their stunningly beautiful home for... More
