My husband and I stayed here in Oct, 2015 for 2 nights and loved it. It is an absolutely gorgeous place and meticulously put together. They did an amazing job decorating with a modern decor that contrasted well with the old details of the chateau. It is just a beautiful property and we loved staying there. There are very few... Thank you, Pieter and Johan, for a wonderful stay! My husband and I just loved the property and you really made us feel at home. Chateau de la Resle is beautifully designed and incredibly relaxing. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the breakfast is delicious. We appreciated your recommendations, especially wine tasting at Brocard and dinner at Le Jardin... More

This delightfully restored Chateau sits on its own in the countryside, not far from Auxerre and Chablis. There are only four rooms available for rent in the main building and a couple in the Ferme opposite. All other comments that I have read about this chateau are absolutely correct. The artwork is inspired and the collections for sale are very... More

This was our second visit to the stunningly beautiful Chateau de la Resle. We have been looking forward to our return trip for sometime and as usual, it never disappoints. The chateau is nestled amongst rolling hills, fields and forest. The peace and tranquillity of the chateau and its surroundings is just perfect for a few days to get away... More

Our stay at the Chateau de la Resle was an incredible end to our fabulous French Holiday. In a beautiful destination, the Chateau has been beautifully restored by our stylish, welcoming hosts. Our stunning suite with gorgeous furniture over looking the fabulous pool was beautifully presented. The food was seriously delicious as was the House wine. The Chateau and grounds... More

Step back in history and live like a marquis for a while. This lovingly restored chateau with it's beautiful grounds is made more gorgeous with the exquisite contemporary art and furniture that the owners have collected and display through out. Johann, one of the owners, recommended activities and places to visit during the day, and superb restaurants for dinner at... More

My wife Carol and I were fortunate to spend a couple of nights at Chateau de la Resle and we thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality of the owners. There is not a detail which is too small. The service is impeccable but at the same time you feel that you are fortunate to stay in their beautiful residence. I recommend the... More

We couldn't have asked for a more charming, romantic, and comfortable place to stay while exploring the Burgundy region. The countryside setting makes the Chateau such a unique experience from the city hotels where we usually stay. It also makes for a perfect location from which to explore the surrounding villages that Johan suggested for our daily excursions. So a... More

I absolutely loved it! The chateau has been beautifully restored. The owners have managed to accentuate its charm and beauty and their great eye for detail shows throughout the estate. They are obviously in love with the place and with what they do. The rooms were spacious and beautifully furnished with the most exquisite Designer pieces and artwork. The restaurant... More

Horrible experience. Rooms look very sombre and cold. Not renovated. Shower is small and uncomfortable. There is not hitting in the rooms and they switch it off completely at night. Swimming pool is closed and restaurant that mentioned on the website doesn't exist. (You are lucky to be able to find a place to eat as it takes 20 min... More

Johan B, Owner at Chateau de la Resle, responded to this review

This review was posted in a slightly different version some time ago already but taken off by Tripadvisor as it had "seriously discriminating elements". I am not going to spend too much time responding to this review as it brings back some bad memories. What says it all is that these two female guests left without paying the bill and... More
