A few months back I stayed overnight at the Talbot as I used to live in Eynsham and often go back to visit friends. I used to drink at the Talbot frequently under the previous management, which was always wonderful. Unfortunately I had a terrible experience this time and will never stay again. I had pre-paid for a full English... More

I stayed here due to working in Oxford for the week and i must say i was pleasantly surprised. It looked like a normal old pub from the outside. But the room i stayed in was nice and modern with en suite facilities. it was quiet at night and i got good sleep for the entire week. The food here... More

Called here as they have ales in barrels which us unusual these days and the beer was excellent. We decided to eat in the restaurant which seems busy. Menu choice not too extensive and was changed yesterday. I opted for a simple jacket potato with prawns and garlic bread and my partner had the burger. The garlic bread was lacking... More

Good Morning. Many thanks for your review albeit, a not so clever one! We're glad you enjoyed the beer and the quirky way of serving it. I was sorry to read that your jacket potato was a bit hard - had you mentioned this at the time we would have gladly replaced it for you. I will ask the chef... More

My Husband and I know this pub very well as we lived locally until recently. We decided to stop off for some food one night at around 9pm. This is the first time we have eaten there since the new management have taken over. The staff were brilliant, super friendly and really efficient. The food however, was a different matter.... More

Good Morning. Thank you for your review. It was disappointing to see that you were unhappy with your meals. We do buy Lasagne in however, our supplier offers 3 different qualities / prices. We opt for the best and most expensive. We sell around 25 Lasagne per week and receive great feedback generally - I am sorry that you were... More

We have stayed here twice. The rooms are very comfortable with all the right facilities. Cars can park just outside and the terrace bar by the small river is just across from the rooms. When it's quiet it's like having a private terrace. The breakfast is very good plenty to eat. We had dinner here twice and enjoyed the food.... More

The talbot inn has been a favourite for me and my girlfriend for many months now and there is always a warm welcome from Gemma and the staff every time we go there for a meal and drink and on occasion take part in the Monday pub quiz. The good is extremely good value, tasty, well cooked and of excellent... More

This place is perfectly situated and a fantastic country pub. The staff were really friendly and really made us welcome. The quality of the breakfast was excellent, no cheap meat, door step fresh bread for toast, real coffee and good old Heinz tommy k! This place is great value and is a really good base to get around the local... More

This was an outstanding stay. Three nights in a very lovely room. . Convenient bus transportation to and from Oxford. . From Oxford, take the S-1 bus. About five miles out of Oxford look for the toll road entry. Pass the toll road, push the button to indicate a stop. Walk across the highway and you are there. Its really... More
