Everyone should experience staying at this splendid place. Food was sublime (note to all chefs - this is how it should be done). Staff provided excellent service with a friendly smile. Stayed in room 3 which should be accurately described as an apartment - fantastic. Hotel was exceptionally clean, comfortable bar in which to relax after taking in the breathtaking... More

Stayed here in May with a groupon voucher and never experience such delicious breakfasts with great choice. I had a full English and smoked salmon with scrambled egg and all delicious quality food. We ate for convenience in the restaurant on the first night and it was so impressed we came back early to eat the second night. Staff were... More

We stayed at the anglers arms in june. We had the flat room 3, it was lovely, we had a lounge, large plasma tv, really nice bedroom, you reach bathroom by spiral stairs, bathroom was quite big and modern. We ate most nights in the pub, the food was lovely, a couple of nights we were that tired after being... More

We have eaten lunch here on a number of occasions and are always happy to return. The bar and restaurant areas have a lovely atmosphere, enhanced by beams and interesting artefacts decorating the walls. The menu is 'traditional' for an inn of this kind and is always well prepared and nicely presented. If you need anything special such as plain... More

We saw the deal on Groupon, but when I rang to ask about vacancies for the date we wanted, the very friendly lady who I spoke to said we could book over the phone. We paid £49 for one night B&B. We had room no 4, a twin bedded room, on the second floor, accessed by the fire escape, which... More

Really enjoyed our one night stay recently. It was a Thursday night so quiz night, not that 'The Carlisle Crew' were any good. A very traditional pub with the usual memorabilia and beamed ceilings. We stayed over and our room was clean and tidy. Our evening meal was fantastic, we both had steak, although hubby had a farmhouse grill. Morning... More

Stayed for 3 nights in room 5 which was really clean and comfortable.... friends stayed in number 2 which was a little larger. We were impressed by the friendly, cheerful nature of all the staff we met and thoroughly enjoyed the cooked breakfasts. The abundance of fresh flowers was greatly appreciated as was the open fire at times. The situation... More
