From the moment my wife and I walked into this establishment having read previous trip advisor reviews we knew what we read was absolutely true. We were met by the most friendly, and as we, within 15 mins learned not only extremely helpful but a genuine laugh a minute barman called richard . We'd had a slight problem upon getting... More

The Anglers Arms is well worth a visit, but book in advance for dinner as it is rightly popular and usually busy. We dined here on three successive nights during our stay in Northumberland and the place has changed little over the years, offering the same warm welcome and atmosphere as we remembered from our first visits to the place... Went on a voucher deal for 3 nights. The room was compact but adequate with an ensuite and shower. The food we had was first class with a good selection of English fare that was tasty and enjoyable. Breakfasts in particular were excellent and well presented. Staff without exception were always friendly and helpful. Will definitely go back again.

Went for dinner tonight. The food was excellent as was the service. Well worth a visit. The Pigeon, pork and pistachio terrine was delicious. Steak and Ale pie was made with half a cow and the Banoffee pie had the most amazing caramel sauce. Can't wait to go back.

Staff could not have been better, food is excellent, room was spotless. We really enjoyed our time at The Anglers Arms. Nice quiet spot, good fun at quiz night, with all the locals making it very enjoyable. Will definitely be back, and highly recommend it to anyone.

This is just a great place to enjoy Sunday lunch-excellent food friendly service. Unique plave in lovely countryside. Menu is very varied and wine list is excellent. Great also for families. Great walk by the river where you can relax and get rid of some of the calories. Fish the River Coquet.

Stopped for lunch on busy Saturday afternoon, had excellent food with extremely generous portions of fabulous home cooked gastro pub style food and presentation. Warm welcome in lovely, cosy and clean hotel. Only down side was they were understaffed, but coped very well! Would greatly recommend this beautifully postioned small hotel!

We have been coming to the Anglers Arms for years. We have had dinners with family and also with colleagues and have always had great food. Recently, my husband and I decided to have the Valentine's Day set menu. We were given glasses of Prosecco upon arrival and seated straight away. The meal was excellent and the atmosphere was lovely.... More
