Stayed here on my last night walking Hadrian's Wall - basic but comfortable and nothing too much trouble. As I needed to be up and off before 7am the next morning I said I would skip breakfast - however my host insisted on giving me a carry out breakfast which was magnificent - hard boiled eggs, tomatoes, yoghurt, biscuits and... A lovely welcome and my wariness was well anticipated. A comfortable cosy room and good night's sleep after a great shower, a fabulous meal at the lively pub just up the road and a few pints of Guinness --- I had returned full of buzz after watching Jessica Ennis win her gold and cheering her victory along with the hospitable... Stayed here one night whist walking Hadrian's Way. This place is not that easy to find on a housing estate in the village. Lovely views from the lounge! Arrived rather wet from a sudden downpour, there did not appear any where to put our wet stuff except in the bedroom - odd considering the name of the place. Anyhow the... More

Stayed here with a friend while walking Hadrians Wall. The only reason I haven't given this the lowest rating is that the bedroom was basically clean and it's convenient to a pub with decent food and the route of the wall itself. The rest of the house was not particularly clean and breakfast was dreadful (burnt scrambled eggs, need I... More

My friend and I stayed one night whilst walking the Hadrian's Wall trail. We arrived around 4pm to find a note stuck on the door to say the owner had gone shopping and would be back around 5.15pm. She did not arrive back till 5.30pm - we were lucky it didn't rain whilst we waited - it had clouded over... More

We stayed here for a night when walking the wall. 5 mins walk to the pub where you can get filling pub grub and great local beer. Big bath to soak in at the end of a long day. Breakfast a little lacking, but very helpful owner with knowledge and recommendations of the area.

I stayed one night whilst walking the Hadrian's Wall path. Everything was clean and in good condition. Bathroom and toilet shared with other guests. Quiet residential area. I paid £35 per night for B&B. Good breakfast. Good welcome. Helpful advice about finding an evening meal.
