Hadrian's Barn is setup a little differently than a normal B&B experience. We stayed in a 1 bedroom guest house on Lesley's property, and it was about the biggest "hotel room" I've ever had in my life. In addition to the sleeping area, there was a large sitting area, a kitchenette, and a reasonably sized bathroom. Instead of preparing a... More

We stayed at Hadrians barn for 3 nights. We were attending a wedding at nearby Close House and this accommodation provided a much cheaper and more flexible alternative to the hotel. On arrival we were warmly welcomed by Lesley and quickly settled into our accommodation. Lovely chocolate flapjacks were there, in addition to all the provisions needed for drinks and... More

As we were visiting the area for a sad occasion (a family funeral), this lovely self-catered B&B was a wonderful place to come back to. Stylishly decorated, immaculately clean, cosy (with easily controllable thermostat), Wifi, comfy beds and breakfast when we wanted: everything we needed and more. Owner very friendly and helpful, but not intrusive. Highly recommended.

Sadly, time only allowed a one night stay. Would have loved to stay longer. Excellent location for Hadrian's wall plenty of info offered on surrounding area (places to go, eat etc). The accommodation itself, to me could not be improved on. There was a lovely welcome for us. Plenty of food in the fridge for a snack and breakfast. Very... More

After reading the positive reviews of Hadrians Barn we were expecting something really special. Whilst there was nothing reallly wrong with the accommodation it fell short of our expectations. On the positive side the beds were comfortable with soft pillows and cosy duvets. The provisions for breakfast were ok but no cookies as described in a previous review! The packaged... More

Stayed here as a friend was getting married at Close House Hotel and I didn't want to pay £160 for a room. This barn cost a friend and I just £70! £35 each! This represented phenomenal value for money. This property isn't quite a barn, its a french styled, luxury modern building with lots of gorgeous french patio doors and... More

The location is a bit off the road, and the signs we were looking for -which identified where to turn- unfortunately were covered by foliage. Took a bit of wandering around, but we did finally locate the lodging. That being noted, being off the road and surrounded by fields, the location is particularly quiet. The lodging is also surprisingly large.... More
