We celebrated my mothers 90th Birthday back in July 2011 and had the most wonderful meal here on a beautiful sunny day when we were able to enjoy sitting in the courtyard with drinks before and after the meal. Have visited here on many occasions and overall would rate our experiences as very good/excellent. The staff are are in my...

My husband and I were treated to a Saturday night stay at the new Courtyard rooms at Close House as a wedding present from my mother. When we arrived at the main house we checked in and were whisked off to our room in a golf buggy - a fun start!
We were escorted into our room and guided around...

We took advantage of the January deal of £140 DBB in a Courtyard Suite. A member of staff showed us to our suite. It is the best room I have ever stayed in (the one shown on the website), huge, beautifully furnished and the bathroom was fantastic.

We recently returned to celebrate a special birthday with Champagne cocktails and a fabulous lunch. Close House is always a winner and visits from a spring wedding to a Christmas party night have always succeeded in providing the best or try the afternoon tea for a show stopper. Great food, beautiful rooms and impeccible service are guaranteed. Business meetings too...

We chose to stay at Close House because of its links someway back to Newcastle Uni and we thought it might be fun to see how it had developed.
I particularly liked the idea of it being someway out of Newcastle - although when the snow came down, whilst stunningly beautiful, it made it a little tricky to drive!

I have had many wonderful trips to Close House, and my most recent was spent having lunch in their new No. 19 restaurant. We received a very warm welcome on an extremely cold day, feasted on a lovely 'fish-platter' with fresh bread, and took in the wonderful views across the golf course. I cannot recommend Close House highly enough, a...
