We do not stay here, but eat here on a regular basis. Nice clean friendly really really good food value for money. Landlady really nice, will do anything to help.. There are some nice walks local. There is a wood carver who works from a small unit by the pub and his work is excellent

My sister and I stayed here on the first night of our Newcastle-Edinburgh cycle ride, and I would definitely recommend it. The room was simple, clean and comfortable - the wooden furniture was beautiful and good quality and the bathroom was large (albeit with a slightly strange layout). The beds were very comfortable. We did hear a bit of noise... More

A great place ,clean tidy, relaxed and nice brekkie although i had to rush it a little. Also treated myself to a meal on there steak night and... More

Stayed in a twin room ,room was well equipped with a large bathroom. Owner and staff really friendly, best breakfast ever! This hotel is 5 minutes away from the hospital so handy if you are travelling to see someone. Room one directly above the extractor fan for the kitchen so avoid it if you are a veggie as the steak... I went here with my partner last month,This place was nice. I wasn't sure about the atmosphere as it felt a bit old fashioned . but the staff were friendly and it looked nice through the bar area. The steak I had was amazing. It had a lovely oaky taste to it. Would recommend.

This is our first visit to this Inn for dinner, but it won't be our last. The restaurant, staff and the food were something to behold. The food is reasonably priced and exceptionally good quality. I had tempura battered Hake with salad and chips. I explained I had a food allergy so they offered to change the salsa sauce advertised... More

Our room was clean and comfortable and it had all the amenities you need for your stay. It is a three star bed and breakfast but what makes this place five star is the staff and the food. The food was delicious and my wife even had a choice of veggie options. I had the tastiest Northumberland sausage and mash... More

Decided to have dinner here on our last night staying at Cresswell Towers. The girl who served us worked the whole restaurant herself all night and did a fantastic job. There was five of us in our party, we all ordered various starters which were all delicious, I had king prawns and asked to change the dip from garlic mayonnaise... More

We stayed one night here in comfortable, clean rooms and enjoyed a delicious dinner though found the portions huge. The breakfast was equally good with locally produced bacon and sausage. We enjoyed looking at the 'Picture House' featuring work by a local artist.
