We choose the BB as it was close to location of an evening event we were attending. The room had a great sea view, decorated tastfully and spacious. It had every thing we needed and had a comfortable stay over all. Did not have time to sample the food this time round but there's always next time. We relaxed in... More

The Old Ship is the perfect get-away! Be it for Business or Leisure. I have now stayed at the hotel on several occassions, the staff are friendly and very welcoming to their village as are the Management team and locals. I had the pleasure on my last stay of sampling the Sunday food menu and it didnt disapoint! The pub... More

really confused regards review by "joyce" as this certainly did not seem to be the same establishment myself and freinds enjoyed. We found the landlord dennis charming, though a little eccentric, whilst his partner jackie was wonderful and obliging and more than willing to provide breakfast at the earliest of hours e.g 5am. Would certainly recomend a stay of any duration!

We recently decended on the Old Ship Newbiggin as a quick getaway, and to be honest we wished we hadnt bothered! Jackie & Dennis have about as much business acumen as my little finger. Despite what the website says, the pub does NOT offer any food except for 2 and a half hours on a Sunday. The water was constantly... More

Great place for Sunday lunch and for entertainment during the week. Book up for the Triathlon in 2012 and of course the music festival next August. You will get a great welcome as a day visitor or if your staying over.

We stayed for two nights in a family room which was spacious and comfortable, welcoming and friendly hosts, good breakfast fantastic location. The pub is clearly being refurbished and some rooms under decoration but our room was recently completed and was pleasant with everything we needed. Not ensuite with a shared bathroom which might put some off but no one... More

We loved staying at The Old Ship. Jackie and Dennis were very welcoming. We had two double rooms with lovely views and the beds were so comfortable. The shower was fantastic, hot and very powerful. There was no strict time over breakfast and we only wished we could have stayed for Sunday dinner. The locals also made us feel very... More

If we were giving a rating for the people who work in The Old Ship Inn we would give five stars, as the landlady Jackie and her staff were warm and welcoming, and this made up for the shortcomings in the accommodation. However some small changes could make a big difference: putting a mirror in the bathroom and providing some... More

We arrived by bike at The Old Ship and immediately had a terrific welcome from the owner herself. We were able to store the bikes safely then went up to our room. The room was very comfortable and had a fantastic view out to sea. There was a friendly atmosphere in the pub in the evening. The breakfast was excellent... More
