Great friendly pub, good comfortable location right on the beach. This is a pub with guest room not the savoy. Gets grip people what are you expecting. We have had a good warm welcome from all the staff, nothing seems like to much trouble for them. We asked for extra pillows 10mins later they were in the room. Cheap priced... More

We've stayed here before and it's very basic but clean. The price is reasonable for what you get. This time we were in a renovated room that wasn't quite finished but it was fine for our one night stay. Breakfast is extra if you want it otherwise there's a grocery store nearby. Staff are helpful and friendly and we enjoy... More

Pleasant in every aspect from the views to the comfort of the rooms, made very welcome by everybody. An ideal place to be based for visiting local attractions such as Alnwick and bamburgh. Very close to the beach and the couple statue in the bay. Best hit according family members was the sparkly bathroom walls, which were very pretty indeed.

Visited family and stayed in The Ship Inn. Wasn't sure if it was a good choice when we parked the car in the car park as building is a little tired outside. But room was spacious, clean and tidy. Bed was very comfortable, wonderful power shower and views from the room where amazing! Everyone was very friendly and Breakfast was... More

Service was very good, we had booked a table as we had been told that it was very busy at Sunday lunchtime, it was but the staff were excellent. Lunch was home made food, roast beef, chicken or mince and dumplings, from our party of 4, 2 had beef, 1 chicken and 1 mince, food was superb, large plateful, nice... More

As soon as we stepped over the doorstop, we received a very warm welcome by Jackie the owner. The Ship has a very cosy old charm feel, and is obviously a favourite with the locals. There are some wonderful characters, who make you feel welcome and at home. We had wonderful time. Everyone was happy to advise us of the... More

I was a little concerned after reading the review below however i need not have worried! I stayed for two nights earlier this week and found the room (sea view) outstanding for the price as was the breakfast (which was cooked to order). I found the owner more than helpful even to the extent of recommending various take aways and... More

Extremely disappointed following my stay last night. The beds were comfortable, which was the only good point I can put. Horrible food, very expensive for no real reason. Uneven floors and got locked in bathroom as door got stuck! On top of that, they messed up in the breakfast order we were pushed to get in the night before. (Not... More
